With the cold weather at the moment, it wouldn't be unusual that the engine takes a bit longer to warm up to 90. Also depends on how hard you rev the car, if you're keeping it under 3000 before you hit 90 then 5 mins to warm up sounds about right...

my cars never hit 90(dodgy thermostat since I bought it lol)
Your fuel economy must be rubbish.
Certainly noticed the difference in mine since having it replaced.
Didnt notice anything different on mine mate but then I only left it for one day before replacing the thermostat as knew it wasnt right with the needle moving a lot as had always sat on 90Deg solid.
But what an absolute
of a job to replace.... especially when you strip down the side of the engine (where the CTS is located) to realise the thermostat isnt there after all ...
is that 10 mins from starting, or 10 mins from when your coolant hits 90?
and what temp is that for your oil? hitting the 'magic' 60 or higher?
10 mins after the 90 to be safe. When you hit the magic 60 I'd say it's ok to 'test the turbo'.
Totally agree with Jon here...
In my car it normally takes about 5 mins or so so the coolant temp needle to get up to halfway (90C). This is with normal town driving from cold and in normal weather.
Recently with it being so cold it can take up to twice as long for the temp needle to get up to 90 - that's pretty normal.
Even when the needle has come up though I tend to give it another 5 mins or so before I use the power available just to make sure the oil is nicely warmed through. Of course, without an oil temp gauge its all guess work, but common sense would tell you that oil would take a fair bit longer to warm up than the coolant.
You can normally feel that the car becomes a lot more reponsive and smooth as it warms through anyway

well been searching for a while , what does the oil temp reach under normal loads
not sure if mines been fitted tidy but temps almost reached 150 degrees last nite ?
got the sump sensor from merlin motoersport connected to a autometer temp gauge from frauds
