Hi SC,
I've got a MK4 beezer and when I bought it the wheels (17' split 5 spoke cupras) were repainted as part of the deal. The car has been used in all weathers and all commutes and over the past year the paint has taken a beating. I have chips all over the predominent centre and a heavy ammount of kerbage. (staring at things I shouldn't for too long)
I want to powdercoat the wheels gloss black but I don't know how I am going to get them there or how I am going to get around for two weeks. I'm not keen on doing one wheel at a time (my spare is an alloy) because that would take months.
As far as I know I can't put steel rims on because of the size of the front caliper and there won't be much point in getting alloys to put on in the mean time.
Don't know what to do - I've been considering getting a tidy MK3 golf I found on auto trader for £850, looking after it and selling on once the car is sorted.
Any advice, anyone strongly advising against powdercoating?
