i would easy come down south, i dont see it as a big obsticle atall, + imagine all that fun we could have on the Pi55 and on the tracks ???

i still think you could get a KO4 cupra down a 1/4 mile under 13s. dont make me prove it becuase it will probebly end up costing me £££

yeah hurdy seems to be the man to know, might give him a PM...

i know, i am pretty sure i am going to go to a 1/4 down south in summer so be good to get a meet organised.

i had a race with a toyota starlet last night and it gave me a slight shock, i mean i passed him but it wasnt as easy as i thought it would have been, i dont know what power these little starlets can put out but it was quick and they weigh f3ck all...so i need to make sure their isnt a chance of this happening again hahahahaha

this obviously took place on a private track

These Starlets (probably a glanza) have a cult following, cracking little motors and easily modded for small bucks.

They only run a 1.3 turbo engine. My daughters boyfriend had a stock 1.3i version, dropped the turbo engine in, remapped it, intercooler, exhaust to name a few and stripped it down to pretty much a bare shell. it was running 200bhp when tested and yes it did move and handle.

I've bought my daughter a 1.3i starlet which is going through some mods and no doubt will end up pretty nippy too!

Unfortunately he didnt upgrade the manifold and it fractured! LOL

After this he sold for parts and bought a nissan 200sx. That could be an interesting challenge for my K1. His is however modded mine not!

not true really, as the honda boys are way infront of these times :bleh:

Yeah after they spend tens of thousands of pounds, in which case I raise you a 600hp leon.

I piss all over supercharged civics, and we all know its not exactly cheap to charge one. ;)

Quickest FWD car in the UK, thats a ford last I heard ;)

Id like to come across one of these magical CTR's that cost only 3k. Loads of CTRs about who have spent 1.5 k on a full exhaust and manny alone and they dont come anywhere close a stage 1 cupra never mind a stage 2 plus ;)

Even a stripped and charged CTR got seen off when I only had a map and pump.

which ford and what time?? i haven't taken much notice of the 1/4mile in a while but the last i saw was "1. 10.05 @ 146.20MPH (Santa Pod) CPL Racing (Turbo + slicks) UK's Fastest FWD Car"

well costing will all depend on who and what you use of course but some people love to spend money not needed, i was tempted to turbo my CTR via my mates company he wanted 3.5k ALL IN which would have seen 350bhp but instead im now looking at a evo 8 mr or k1 ( reason im on here )

i stripped JRSC civic will do 11.5 on slicks and around 12.5-13 on 888's so you must have had one hell of a map :-o

i love the leons not here to slate them just dont like seeing inaccurate comments

Think it was a escort, fastest in europe at one point, think it did under 10 secs.

k1 or evo depends on what sort of things you want from your car, the evo is undoubtedly the better all round package, but if you need lower running costs, great straightline speed and ok handling then the k1 fits the bill.

Well the mk5 gti ed30 has done a 12.6 on 888's with a bit of weight loss, so a fully stripped one on drag tyres would be quicker.

Obviously if you know people, everything can be done cheaper, I have probably only paid just over half as much to get me to stage 2 plus than the average stage 2 plus user on here for example.

Not sure of this escort im on passionford and from reading the quickest 1/4mile cars on there nothing in the FWD class comes close to that??

Running costs aren't a major issue so its just down to which one i prefer, not driven the k1 yet so will have to see how much it impresses me but i like what ive seen and read... but then again the ed30 is also growing on me  not sure how that compares to the k1??

theres a lad on a local forum to me think hes on here ( hurdy ) last i read he was nearly in the 12's but hes going up for 370bhp if i read his last update right

i would choose an ed30 if i has the choice again mainly due to DSG, but that is only a factor on the 1/4mile in my opinion, i think the leon looks better. as for the evo i have not doubt they are quick well handling cars but VERY common and expected to be fast, i havent been beaten in a race against an evo yet so cant be that quick really, but then again it could be down to modified against standard again.

its purely down to you mate, which you prefer and what you have more interest in???

Great stuff a honda fanboy . 3k gets a CTR down to mid to high 12s does that include the £800 for r888s you stated aswell , no doubt their is fast CTR,s out their but not gonna get near a cupra with the same £££ spent on it. Thats what my comment was reffering to :p.

Also i would go with the ed30 with dsg aswell as it sounds as if your into your 1/4mile action so you can shave those few 0.4 secs off your time.

Wouldn't say im a honda fanboy at all i love all hothatchs really they all offer something different imo its just abit dissapointing when you see people with blinkers on thats all, i doubt you have ever seen or even been in a CTR running over 300bhp so you wouldn't be the best one to judge on how it would compare to a cupra, so we should just agree to disagree and let the times do the talking over on the CTR board ;)

Im not really into 1/4 as in i would be running there all the time i like to see how different mods affect the times etc, i would more then likely run the car once but just out of curiousty more then anything

cant say im that clued up on the DSG system though what are its limits etc and can it take a good thrashing every now an again thats the main thing really as i know every time i get into the honda it wont break
