orite i didnt notice that, i did notice the shape though, so you think i have asked for the correct part to get the same grille as yours

Yep - if you asked for an FR grill then that's what you should get - if it helps I can dig out the part number tomorrow evening and you can take that to the dealer when picking up yours, just so you can make sure its correct before you leave the dealers, and if not then at least you'll have a part number for them

That would be good. I'm thinking about ordering one for my 1.6 sport.
Your pic is the FR grill on a sport isn't it? was it easy to fit? and where's the best place to buy?

Sorry for the barrage of questions!!

No worries - yeh my car is a 1.6 TDI sport though it'll fit any other model.

I got it from SERE motors (where I bought the car) they have a section on the forum, http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=2865170#post2865170

David (the parts manager) is a legend! Great guy for genuine parts at sensible prices.

As for fitting it, the hardest part is removing the old grill, however there's a guide on the site for removing a mk2 leon grill and the ibiza one is pretty much the same procedure.

was talking to my brother this morning and even they said that it would be in on Saturday it came in the morning a result me thinks.

just come home, like m4rt1n said got the phone call this morning and picked the part up this afternoon when on my way home from college £48.82 :) very quick to receive and good customer service, the grill does also look good on the car and its the same grille as yours markmeus

What other parts does this dave person do?

Any genuine part - same as any other SEAT dealer.

Nice one - glad to hear it was the correct grill. I love mine, definitely makes the front look so much better! :)

yeh it does look better going to be fitting it today is it just the screw things on the top that need to be sprised out and then the hooks on the back about half way down?

i dropped one of the clips in the locking mechanism for the bonnet luckily dad got it out then he used the screwdrivers down the side of the grille next to the body work to ping them out but not advisable as dad broke one of them and snapped the other one but lukily its help in place by the things at the top but its still secure at the sides, looks good as well now its fitted

Im amazed I didn't break the clips at the side, don't know why the grill is actually so secure, on my old mk3 Ibiza, you could just lift it out lol.

Though it did have 2 other grilles at either side of the middle one that were actually plastic welded to the bumper, had to take the bumper off to change them!

orite, least mine does actually stay and it does look better, mum and dad dont know the difference (it is abit ovious) and our roofer says it looks better now

It's all about the subtle mods :) - my old mk3 never really stood out on its own, (to anyone who didn't know anything about cars) but park it beside another one and anyone could tell it looked a million times better!
