Where would a remapped fr/cupra be with regards to cars such as

type r
cliosport
astra gsi
astra vxr
focus st

off the line and in gear? Petrol and diesel.

Straight line only of course.

I am runnng stage 1 revo map and i can beat type r,cliosport, astra gsi and i am bout the say as my mate vxr astra but there are gear that i do pull in front

Running a Stage 1 P-Torque map here (diesel) . Off the line I just find there is so much wheel spin/lose of traction that it is hard (maybe that is just me...)

In gear though I have been in line with a Type R...

Cupra tdi with p-torque stage one. 200bhp.

It will run level with a Focus ST 2.5 up to 140 mph. And it easily has the legs on a type r ep3 or fn2.

What tyres u running mate? Ive got toyo t1r's and have never found traction much of an issue.

Straight line running 200bhp and 300 torques, the diesel will have it in a straight line over say a 1/4 mile. In gear is where it's at with the diesel though, as the lack of torque in the non-turbo cars means they are pretty gutless, especially in the higher gears. The turbo'd cars (VXR, ST), there ain't much in it, unless of course they are modded.

I used to own a Clio 172 Cup, and they are great fun but pretty rubbish with regards to in-gear acceleration. They are not built for straight line speed and have to be revved to get them to move, as with the Type R's.

Off the line, I would give the advantage to better driver.

Do you see a huge amount of difference in MPG with a stage 1 tune?

stage 1 remap on my fr tdi...at about 180 and 300lbs torque....mpg is up slightly after the map...havent really tried it on with other cars...but have kept up with typr R's when they are pulling away no problems ;)

new type r i have pulled on old one ran level with . have found 172s and 182s are no match in a straight line and have pulled on everyone , and been level with 1 vxr pulled a car lenghth on another and got left for dust by a 3rd :ban: thats petrol stage 1 runnin198bhp . One car i did find suprisingly slow was the magane sport .

Same here, Custom Code Cupra tdi is level with Focus ST and Megane 225 upto 133mph on GPS at which point I gave up. Again, on a private runway :cartman:

The Megane is as quick as a VXR and is slightly quicker than a Clio and Civic. They are certainly not slow and handle very well. The 172/182 is exactly the same as the Type R up to 100.

Megane R26.R is another story!

Im just saying what i have come across ;) good thing with the turbo cars aginst na and vtec is you nearly always have instant power . I was suprised with the megane sport maybe it was not running well

from 40 to about 140 I was neck and neck with a scooby P1, pretty suprised at this as I always thought a P1 would leave a tdi for dead! not the case :D

Also pulled away from an ST but the only one out of the above that would slightly worry me would be the VXR

I've just got rid of an Astra VXR and that was quick. If the Cupra Tdi is any where near as quick as that I'll be more than happy. I'd be surprised though looking at the acceleration figures.
