Took my Boc out for its first run in the dark lastnight & noticed that the map lights, in which I fitted replacement blue LEDs, are very slightly on all the time, even with the lights turned off, the ignition key removed & the car locked. Any ideas???

This has been noticed before and I saw the same thing. There is a residual current running through these lights which isn't enough to illuminate normal bulbs but will light up led lights, well anoying. Led bulbs would look good but don't want the battery to die, out of interest how long would the battery last if these bulbs were always on a little?

exactly the same amount of time as it would usually.

There's still the same amount of current and therefore energy running through the system.
It's just that LED's at much more efficient than standard bulbs at converting this current into light, whereas a normal bulb will just convert this energy into a little bit of heat instead.
Either way, the energy is still lost.

look great! sorry to seem dumb but you had to buy two sets seeing as each headlight has two bulbs in yes?

Bought 1 set of the canbus for the inside bulbs and autobulbs were sending out a free set of led bulbs which i used for the outside. Saved a bit of money :)

Make it easy, google W5W LED or ebay it, Thats just the size. Canbus is something to stop the bulb out light coming on i think. And i just have standard lights.

The two w5w lamps at inside as you look the car have canbus system!
the two at outside w5w lamps don't! You can put every led you like! ;)

I did as recommended & put canbus LEDs (from Autobulbs) on the inside & the free (no canbus) LEDs on the outside - the warning light comes on! Anyone else successful with this configuration?

Think it has something to do with the XENONS possibly ?

Dave i just had a look under my bonnet for the first time, (ive got xenons like you have) did you have a security sticker over the cap to get at the sidelights? i was wondering if i take the cap off to change the bulbs and break the sticker would it affect warranty?

I just have the normal headlights and I have these stickers too. Surely it can't affect the warranty changing a bulb..........can it?
