Hello ppeps, I am in need to new disks and pads for the rear of my LCR.

I currently have standard pads and disks on the rear but I upgraded my fronts to EBC Turbo Groove and Ferrodo pads.

Im not after anything too special at the back but the car defo needs new shoes at the rear as the braking is getting worse.

Can anyone recomend anything decent but not too dear? Should stick to OEM?

I was thinking of getting the same disks for the rear as I have on the fronts but the Disks are £140 for the pair, which is alot since the rear brakes don't really do that much stopping compared to the fronts.

Thanks guys,

Thanks guys,

OEM's it is me thinks.

The EBC Turbo grooves look nice at the fronts, it just felt a bit odd having plain disks at the rear. I guess now thinking about it, its not worth spending near £140 on disks for looks only.

Where do you recommend buying them from? GSF? Europarts?

Hi There,

I got mine from Unipart for £23.50 for my front's. The guy told me Mintex makes them for them, maybe the same for the rears. For cheap pads I have been very impressed with them.

Cool, thanks, there's a branch less than 5 miles away from me. I think I might know someone who works there too.

Do the rear pads have sensors on them like the fronts. Shouldn't be a big problem as the Ferrodo's I have at the front didn't come with the sensors, even though the OEM pads did.

It looks like you need to be a tradesman in order to buy part from them. Can I not just order parts if I just was a non tradesman?

i'm not a tradesman and ordered parts over the phone no issues on friday.
nice chaps even delivered to the garage for me that were changing them.

millions of threads recommend them as generally cheaper than a dealer and i'm sure not everybody is a tradesman.
i asked about getting oil filter etc for a service from them and they said, just call in and collect as needed.

excellent service from the shrewsbury depot :)

I called up GSF for a quote on front brembo's for my Leon today and they said the its £45 for the fronts. Is that realistic?

The guy said "yes, they are for the Brembo 4 pot calipers on the Cupra R 18" wheels".

When I shop around, some places are quoting £100 more than this.

After changing my rears, I thought I would change the fronts as the service is due next month and the MOT 2 months after.

Well, he's said that they are for the Brembo 4 pots, but did he actually say that they were actually Brembo discs? They could possibly just be cheap generics, so might be worth getting them to clarify

Sorry, I meant Pads and yes he said they are Brembo's. I might just order them (they don't stock it in the sotres, they have to be ordered in). I can always return them if they are not the right pads.
