How far over milage service indicator to keep warranty?

ive never heard of this 10% rule either, but even if it is accepted it will be 10% of the interval, not 10% of the total mileage.
so on a 10,000 mile interval you can go over by 1,000 miles. which to me sounds better.
what happens next time.. as it appears that if you go 10% over each time you can save 1 in 10 services?
ie service at: 11k 22k 33k 44k 55k 66k 77k 88k 99k 110k.. you have then done 110k miles with only 10 services..
you could also miss out servicing altogether for some components if you go over intervals significantly as they could do a 50k service when a 40k is due which may have specific service items.
if you got serviced at 44k rather than 40k and was serviced at 30k previously this is a massive 40% increase in mileage not 10%.
We need to know what mileage /age you got the 30k done.

thats why i asked , it could just go on and on , i am doing 20k a year , my 30k service was done 6 months a go at 29,679,miles car is 19 months old
so does that mean i can do 40,679 miles or 41,000 miles before its due?

I was 3500 miles over last time (dont ask) and the dealer didnt blink. Just did my warrenty work
Thats up to them, should SEAT want to check they might pull them up on it. But to be fair if the fault was something not related to a service usually its not an issue anyhow.
What you have to remember is at the moment the motor industry is under a massive strain. Every manufacturer is tightening up with regards to warranty. Our audits are now very stringent and if they find fault we are in big trouble. So basically any excuse to get out of paying for a claim they will.
i always thought it was 1000 miles on top of the standard service, so if yours was service at 41500 then the next service would be 52500 but with an allowance of 1k it could be 53500. With our contract hire company they allow us to book the cars in 1000 miles either side of the service mileage or void the warranty

checked my service book and handhbook nothing in there
its in mine somewhere definetly, will have a look if I can find it.

If you had your 2nd service at 21,000 miles, then the latest you could do your 3rd service would be 32,000 miles.
If you had your 2nd service at 19,834 miles, then the latest you could do your 3rd service would be 30,834 miles.
As long as you get a service within 10,000+10% or 1yr+1mth of the last service, then you are still within the rules. Doesn't seem that hard?
But that would be 1000 miles outside of the 1000 miles I'd been quoted over the 30k would it not?
