Patchy bonnet

You're not meant to keep bra's on all the time, just for journeys really or things get trapped between them and the surface of the paint, as it soundsl ike has happened here

Possibly water that has run down your bonnet and got into the bra then soaked the top layer of paint off?

yeah thats what im thinking, the rain around here is quite acidic due to all the industry up here

Hi, get it flated and polished...if there is no deep scratches, it should just polish straight back up. hope this helps.

flated and polished? its not scratched matey just abit of fading, infact i looked today and it was minimal! theres a few stone chips on the bonnet but im not worried about them, what do you mean flated?

You may find a good machine polish with a DA polisher and a strong corrective polish might do the trick, ive seen it work wonders on faded reds before. cheaper than a respray to

get it machined polished. its probably oxidised being red. decent polihs/ pad combo will sort it right out.

if you think of the paint finish on your car as technically always being wet because of the oils minerals etc etc that keep it glossey and shiney, oxidisation is cause when these essential oils and minerals have been stripped off or dried up (probably from the bonnet being on and getting damp and then drying again without removing it) as normaly the environment etc smog, UV from the sun etc causes oxidisation. A good machine polish will get through to the dead paint layer and remove the oxidisation and then bring the surface back to a nice shine.
