Finally got round to painting the rear badges black. Bit of a pain to do, but well worth it in the end. Although, seeing it de-badged did make me wonder.....hmmmm.*

Anyways, picture of the badges removed (I just used some dental floss to cut through the original tape holding the badges on):

Primered badges after being sanded back to remove the chrome coating:

I then sanded the primer back to smooth, and applied 2 or 3 coats of satin black paint. Finished article, after using double sided automotive tape to stick them back on:

Also, whilst the badges were off, my dad decided to make his feelings known about my car....

Cheers! :D

Your MK2 is making me start to really like the shape, I'm a MASSIVE fan of yours mate, really love the look, didnt think the urban camo was right but when u see the complete package its special!!!!!!

Love it mate really its spot on

Cheers for the comments, appreciate it :D

The urban camo thing is my way of making it a bit different. Can understand it not being everyone's taste, but I didn't want to do the S badges black like a lot of other LCs.

I never liked the Mk2 Leon either, but slowly it grew on me, then I realised how quick they are, and the potential of them! Now I absolutely love the shape, the lines..pretty much everything!

Also, coilovers have arrived today, so should get them fitted this weekend :D

The car is looking awesome and i love the camo badges, really suite the car.

Coillies and a nice drop although it already looks fairly low will look great.

What you got planned after coillies......Engine mounts???

Cheers guys, changed my mind on the coilies, went for the Weitecs in the end. The fact that AP were going to take at least another month to deliver swayed the decision too!

The car is currently on Eibach Sportlines, so not too much of a drop. Just wanted the shocks too, and having them height adjustable was a bonus. Nothing wrong with the Eibachs, I'll probably set the coilovers near the height it's at now.

After the coilovers it'll be time for a stage 1 remap. Then it'll definately be engine mounts.

Have you got any suggestions for engine mounts Rob?

Thanks mate, appreciate it :D

Car is booked in for the remap this Saturday, with Will at P-Torque. Really looking forward to seeing what the car makes in standard (ish) form before the map. It'll also be interesting to see what (if any) gains the TwinTake has given.

Then on Sunday I'm having the Weitecs fitted :D

Another small update, my new found spraying skills have taken to the interior of the car lol.

Started to colour-code some of the trim in VW Candy White, to match the rest of the car.

Firstly started off sanding the piece using 400 grit paper - much easier to do than the chrome exterior badges. The aluminium look paint really did come off easily, SEAT couldn't of put less paint on!

Next up was the primer base (3 coats), and then sanding with 1000 grit paper for a smooth finish.

Next up the base colour - VW Candy White. Only needed 2 coats to get the finish I wanted.

Then I applied the clear lacquer, and left it to harden.

Quite happy with them to be fair!

Next up are the speaker surrounds, then I'd like to do the dash, but think it might me a bit OTT. What do you guys think?

Update

Saturday saw me travel to P-Torque for the stage 1 map and dyno runs.*

All I can say is....gutted! Dyno runs confirmed my recent suspicions that the car has felt a bit sluggish and slow, after initially feeling a lot quicker after the TwinTake. Will had a look at the logs and came to the diagnosis that my DV diaphragm had split. This was confirmed when the car rolled a 220bhp and 210lbft on the dyno.*

Unfortunately Will didn't have any of the Mk2 Cupra Rev D valves in stock, so I had to go home without the map on. Damn.*

I have now ordered a new OEM DV to replace the split item, and will anxiously await the fitment to see if it feels better.*

Sunday saw the fitting of my new coilover kit, so at least I could even out the low of not having a remap with the new suspension.*

In the en I bought the Weitec Hicon Gt kit, which came from Damian at DPM Performance. Top man and very quick delivery once I changed the order from the APs I was originally going to have.*

Anyways, some pictures of the last few days:*

First impressions of the kit are...well...awesome! The car now has no roll, and soaks up bumps brilliantly. The ride isn't harsh, and makes the car even more controllable. I can't test them properly as I'm trying to keep off boost as much as possible (due to the split DV), but I still managed to tripod the car round an island. The turn in is so much more improved, it's inspiring!*

Let the proper tests begin once the car is healthy and mapped!*

Next up after the DV has been installed and the car has been mapped, is a weight loss programme in the form of rear seat bench, trim and spare wheel/tools. Then I'll be happy....for now :D

You will deffo need the revision D valve once your mapped bud. I would also recommend some good engine mounts and W.A.L.K kit to keep the power through the wheels. I run the VF engineering side and gearbox mounts and rate them highly.

Cars looking good mate, shame about the DV.

i was under the impression that removing a few bits of trim wouldnt really make and different to anything? also what tyres are you currently running?

Well a mate of mine removed his trim and spare bits etc and lost 55kgs ou of his Mk1 LCR. to be fair though, most of that would be rear bench, wheel and tool kit. It's unnecessary weight, and I don't need rear seats, so I'm getting rid lol.

Blade, yeh I agree, engine mounts are a must soon, not sure which ones to go for though.

I've had a look at the WALK, but some people say it helps, some people say they don't notice a difference.

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sports at the moment, but I'll be moving to Yokohama Paradas soon.

Thanks for the comments guys :D

That looks sweet mate its really coming on so well shame about the DV problem on the day!

The white trim on the interior doors look great thats one thing on the leon suffers from a bland interior!!

J

looking good son, when you next booked in for the map? youl piss yourself with the power itl just make you laugh its effortless. let us know how you get on replacing the dv etc, im ordering mine tomorow and gonna try and fit myself!

Thanks dude, yeh I was gutted, but at least I found the problem now and can fix it, instead of running it leaking boost everywhere! DV Should be here Wednesday so I'll fit it and go from there.

As far as the interior goes, the dash is the only fault I've got with the car. The steering wheel, doors, seats are mint, it's just the dash. Looking to get the dash sprayed white I think, although it may be too much. Maybe a matte carbon wrap would look good?

Cheers mate, I'll get some pictures and a quick guide when it arrives and I fit it. It'll probably take 2 minutes max by the look of it! :D

Shame about the remap mate, car looks great though! Looks miles better lowered :)

Thanks George, the drop does suit it. I could go a good 25-30mm lower but don't want to compromise the handling. The height at the moment has been taken out of the Weitec manual to the Mk2 Leon specification, so I'll see how it goes.

To be fair, the Eibachs I had on were great, but I wanted shocks too, and for the price I had the Weitecs for I can't complain :D
