Also its really annoying after reading all that gay r32 lots thread about LCR's saying they can out handle us so well and all that and in my opinion they are talking a load of poppy cok as an LCR with a decent setup like coilovers, ARB's, bushes, braces etc etc handles amazing to be honest and as they are basically the same car I really dont think there'll be much difference at all especially as were lighter then them. snobby teats

I think your forgetting the haldex? A well set up leon isnt a bad handling car but a damp road and a few twisties 4wd makes a difference.

Agreed light hatred fun but I beat my mate in his type R the other month and still won't let it go :) he's starting hate me :D lol he keeps saying he gunna turbo it but think he needs to win the lottery first ;)

HAHAHA love it! Mate who had a Civic Type R failed to keep up with my lil cupra, started looking at superchargers etc but in the end thought sod that and swapped it for a skyline! I feel thats cheating somewhat! But wait til we hit a track, then he will be

 loving it! Also the R32's, not that quick in my mind - "lazymans car" haha

Id have bought another one but then I would never want fellahs in my house again taking my keys.

Ooft mate that's must have been pretty scary if you were there! Proper target of organised crime. I love the look of the MK4 R32 always wanted one but I was able to get my Stage 1 Cupra R for 2G's less with less miles on it 10 months ago, go figure. Now I'm so glas I bought my Cupra, I get all emotional every time I look at it, lol !

Now I'd much rather take a MK5 Gti over an R32 as you can mod it much more and it'll spank a r32 once re-mapped !

Tbh no one should be racing in the wet let alone on the street.

this is a veeeerrrryyyy good point!!!!
any one racing an r32 in the we in a leon is silly, BUT most important racing on the streets, keep it safe if it start getting sill god knows what can happen, iv lost a few mates due to stupid driving... its NOT god, trees cant move out of ya way but my fukc can they stop a car it its tracks, on coming traffic has the same effect but normally more ppl are killed etc, DONT BE SILLY GUYS

on the other hand, "play" with the other car, they hate it when they try and over take and you dont let them, you dont have to do 140 to know you have them beat, a blip to 85,90 will show them,

I was in mate yeah. Id have another one tomorrow though thats the problem

nothing special about the R32, easy prey for a remapped LCR.

All show no go, sounds nice but lacks performance.

I agree with the 'no go' mate but I have to say it is a very good car, I'd have the R32 over the S3 simply for the V6, but the new Cupra R is really looking like a viable option when it becomes 18 months old.

Its not the car, its just the whole package - 4wd - V6 pull that makes it special in my eyes, I'm a 'V' fan, just a shame MPG and tax post 56 is so awful

Glad I have my LCR now though ticks all my boxes.... and hopefully once mapped will tick a fair few more :funk:

Yea true I did forget that haha but tbh there's not many instances on the roads where an r32 will run circles round a decent LCR.

I agree with Terry

On its day the haldex would run rings around a fwd but as you say theres far more instances where it just ends up as a dead weight being dragged around.

So the UK never got the 2.8VR6 4WD Cupra? :)
Switzerland had the 2.8 with an ABT compressor, producing around 280BHP or sth like that

The ABT Leon was quite a machine, a lot of potential there but as said, we didn't get any 4WD variants of the Leon :(. SEAT deemed that there wasn't a market for it in the U.K but of course they were wrong, as far as I know the most Cupra R's sold anywhere in the world was in the U.K and you only have to look back to the 80's to see that we have a huge love affair with crazy hot hatchbacks...what a mistake by SEAT! I guess it's the same as Honda saying that there's no market for the more hardcore coupe version of the new Civic Type R, again what a massive mistake. Market research anyone?

id swap my lcr for r32 any day of any week of any year blahh blahh..

they just look mint !!
and sound better

plus then i could join r32oc and not get the " atmos dump valve" questions everyday lmao

I would too, its a great car.... look at how many group tests it won when it first came out... arguably one of the best VW ever made.

i love my LCR but i'm open to all types of car and i'd love a 4WD. I think the LCR will be the only Seat i will ever own, there is nothing in the current model range which tickles my fancy.

I've done the Vtech thing, i've had a rear wheel drive coupe so the next on the list is 4WD. straight line pace isn't everything, the R32 has an great chassis and sounds awesome with a sports exhaust. Handling and sound to me are the most important features of a car, and in both instances the R32 is the better car. Just my opinion of course!
