Need advice on coilover srt up asap

right am buyin ta tecknic coilovers and am wantin to drop it abwt 80 mil. what else wil a need to buy apart from coilovers ? how do i no wht size drop links to get.. im really stuck and carnt drop it until i find owt wht i need. sum 1 said sumic abwt coprssin me spring and takin sumic of to pt on coilovers... ????????????

From what I can make out, you're talking about the top mounts?

your best to buy a set of top mounts and attach to the coilover as per normal strut, loosen off the two gert big bolts at bottom of strut, then losen the ones in the engine bay, drob the original strut out and replace with the coilover,

that is about it tbh

spring compressers are to compress the spring to tight the top nut on the coilovers (or loosen when taking off) they are adjusted by the collars that swivel around,
the lower down the strut you have it = lower car
the higher up the strut = raise car

1) DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO !!! hahaha joke..they dont have drop links ?? hmmm guess that makes it a bit easyer like. am really new to al this so yous wil have to be paitent. how much have you dropd yours mate ? a want to go as low as a can without it rubbing or breaking things left right n centre.... cheers

top mounts are not that expensive tbh, I will drop you the part numbers in a little while, not at home

mine is dropped alot, but is going lower when I get wider lips

mine causes no end of problems mate (ripped off exhaust, scrubbing, cannot park on kerbs etc lol)

I would go for a nice 50-60mm drop (mine must be 90-100mm?)

i know that feeling. speedbumps will become like everest after you lower it. im at 75mm front and 95mm rear and im on 16"s so its nearly touching the arch liner. nobody mentioned camber yet?

yeah true, or if you don't wanna pay the big massive price tag

go to a level ground, and measure each corner, and make sure each side is same as the other

(measuring from the arch, going through the centre cap to the ground)

i measured original distance between arch and hub and would up to about 15mm below the height i wanted to allow for play.

corner weighting is so much more than just height of the car on th ecorners, it's about altering the pitch of the car to give equal weight distribution.
may as well just get custom springs and adjustable dampers otherwise.
that said, a well measure setup will be better than standard kit.

mate, i know what corner weighting does, but without the equipment, that is the best thing to do
and seeing as I am not going into track days (esp at my height) then I am happy with my setup, and is great, doesn't pull in any direction etc (but that is down to correct camber/tracking done to front, as rear cannot be adjusted without the aid of camber shims/other camber methods)

youll need a 7mm allen key, or a buzz gun to remove them too...

hahaha thanks alot lads. 60 mil sounds orite for me like. every corner i drive around in my area aswel theres always loads of speedbumps so a will have to really carfull haha. is there no drop links to change either ?? everybodys giving me differnt answers on that question :S
