My dad has a Mk2.5 MX5, not sure if I prefer the Mk1 though. I'm more into the older cars than the newest ones, not into the Mk3 at all.

Lovely one you have here, I've only driven the next model up so I'm not sure how it compares to this one. Easy to put the power down, easier than an S2000 anyway. Doesn't help that the Rear ARB on those is mighty stiff compared to the front!

I've been playing a bit with some vinyl to see how it looks.

Been out for a nice run in it this afternoon, can't wait to fit the chassis braces & new clutch!

Yeah, I'm not trying to follow the crowd as it were (with the camo)

I'd seen a '5' with orange A pillars, but it didn't work - but made me think about the roof, window seals etc all being black, so tried that.

I'm just playing, as I think I will do something on the clio when that comes home.

what sort of material thickness are those x-braces ?

just wondering if a tubular braces would have the same for less weight ?

Mark, don't suppose you know what gives the JDM Mazda's the additional 10% power over the european market versions do you?

The UK 1.6's sometimes came with the 86bhp engine, which is a total donkey - it's not detuned, it's just crap all round.

I think the Jap engined Eunos' had a slightly raised compression as well.

Been out this morning, took the Mazda despite heavy fog which soon lifted

But it's a beautiful day, the VLSD is getting tighter as it warms up on the drive & had a nice bit of fun in some country lanes

Not doing too badly at 21, but it'll be in the garage for the winter soon for a clutch change and general service as soon as the weather gets too ropey.

I've been out today on my first MX5Nutz meet. Consisted of meeting at a supermarket, a decent run out across some of the best roads in the area, followed up by a burger & hot chocolate :)

Honestly the head turning that nine loud modified 5's have leaving Tesco, and having a balls out run was amazing.

Nice positive comments about my black A pillars - this is the first time I've met MX5 enthusiasts, and I was a little nervy about them being a bunch of bearded twats. Needless to say they're anything but & all enjoyed kicking the crap out of their cars as much as I do, getting sideways as often as possible :)
