LOL yeah apparently they don't wanna call it s1.... dunno why abit stupid!
I don't think they would use the 1.4TSI engine seeing as they have a 1.4 TFSI engine already just need a remap to get 182bhp.

If they're going for a bigger engine (1.6tsi) then surely they'd need to do something so it can handle the extra torque. But manual please!! lol
I have to agree, I can't see a manual coming out as they are very fuel efficient driven now and the dsg is better on fuel. A 6 speed wet box would be the right way to go I think and ten thousand horses would not hold me back from getting an R when they release it, and they will, I can feel it hehehehehehehehehheheehe

I mean who knows but if its 'going to be on sale soon' as he claims, a press release, spy shot or at least a mule would have surfaced by now. Besides VAG almost never let the lower brands (as they see it) out perform the equivalent Audi model. If they arent going to make an S1, they wont have an ibiza, polo or fabia coming trumps over the 4 circles - fact.

As previously mentioned there will be no Audi S1 (atm) because of the lack of 4WD (Audi only gives the 'S' emblem to their 4WD cars)
SEAT after all is the sporty brand so maybe they might..
The only previous scenario i can think of is where the mk1 Leon cupra R was released with the 210hp 20VT engine, same power output as the contemporary S3. But which came first? S3 or Cupra R?
Regardless, SEAT isn't going to be stealing sales off Audi, completely different market i'd of thought. I really don't see the problem with a Cupra R outperforming the Audi A1 - a car which is largely going to be driven by female MINI converts anyway! lol
Nope, but the general consensus is that if VW are launching the polo r seat will do the cupra r.
