Well finally made the choice to get rid of my Cupra. Its been a great car but felt it was time for something new. I was split between the Focus RS or the new LCR. Couldnt really bring myself to get the LCR though as its a lot of money for a car thats almost identical. So i will be picking up a brand new unregistered Focus RS i found in 2 weeks time!

Its a shame i havnt found a Ford forum as good as this Seat one though.

Got to be honest mate out of all the hot hatches just now the focus rs i feel is the dogs danglies!!!:D
Great choice, what colour are you getting it in?

Thanks mate. I got it in white, i do like the green but i think i would have found it to much after a while. I will def miss not having rear doors though!

Good choice and would be on my list If I was changing. Saw a green one on a forecourt the other day and I was soooo tempted......it was calling out my name lol!
How do you compare the drive and the seating position to the cupra?...I did read that the seats were a tadge too high but the dealer can lower them an inch or so if you ask!

The drive felt better tbh. Felt much more planted on the straights and cornering. The seats did feel a little more upright but didnt bother me to the point it felt uncomfortable or anything. The noise from the engine and exhaust was very addictive too.

Nice one told you you would love it,you tried the RS Owners club site? loads on there

Focus RS has a lovely road presence whenever i see one i look and thing WOW

Having driven and followed a new LCR they dont look as good or have the same Presence

Yea i agree but tbf thats the whole point of some cars and is what some owners would want but each to their own,Focus and Megane are probably the class leaders in handling possibly due to having similar front suspension set ups(Ford copied Renault)and proper mechanical lsd's and not xds electronics that mimic them

Agree with above. Ford have certainly got it right with how how it looks and SEAT definitely missed the boat with the new lcr. Its just not enough of a step up to tempt me if I was looking to change. I suppose that shows how good the standard cupra really is.
Hope you enjoy the rs and don't forget give us all an update once you've had a good play:D

VAG Group as a whole seem to have it all wrong their idea of Hot hatch is still something that has comfort

IMHO it should be about getting something that is as close to a track car as legally possible

I may be the exception to the following regarding the Focus RS appearance. For sure, it looks how a hot hatch should, but there is something odd about its ride height and wheel spacement in the arches

That being said, for sure, it justifies £25k far more than a MK2 Leon Cupra R, but the downside for me is that they are very very common nowadays.

I am sure it will be a far superior car to the Leon Cupra you are changing from, and hope you enjoy it :)

Good choice, tempted myself with the FRS

 wonder what you think of the face lift Cupra and Cupra R then! They look terrible if they're not lowered. Have to say I've never heard someone mention that about the FRS before.

lovely car frs and they do look tidy. Had one behind me the other night and although i was quicker than him i must admit i swap cars with him tomorow haha. Enjoy pal

The front of the FL Cupra and Cupra R does look rank at the front, hence why I chose to change mine fairly quickly, but it looks loads better than it would with an Aero bumper there.
