Hey all,

I have a powerflex DBM on at the moment, i sure it needs to be changed, its covered 20k? Should i replace this?
Also lately when i come off full boost its like hitting a brick wall, i can on imagine this is from engine movement with all the power, i see peeps seem to recommend THS engine mounts, will this stop the symptoms described?

Get sone one to rev the car while you check the engine mounts see if there is any play ;) if so change them

I am guessing there should always be some play otherwise the engine would just be bolted to the chassis.
Also there is no load on the engine when reving the engine out of gear, is this what you are saying?

I guess the question should be what is excessive/acceptable movement.
Have you done this job Pyro, is it easy to do?

Not done it on my leon but did on my pug wasnt tge easyst tbh used engine crane to hold it up while bolts were out if it's not under load then it shouldn't move alot unless it's a V8 lol it will move but if there shot to **** the you will be able to tell they should only really let the engine rock back and forth if you know wat I mean

There should be a little play maybe 1cm back and forth however it should be hard to move by hand. If its easy to move by hand and more than 1cm then its time to replace the mounts.

I have the THS mounts and there is no movement when revved, it is Farly easy, you just need a jack to support the engine when doing the two side mounts, the left one will take the longest as you need to remove the charcoal canister and the power steering oil container (not off the car just out the way) the dog bone will be the worst as you need to go under the car it should take about an hour to do all three.

Cheers lads, last time my car was on the dyno there was a lot of movement from the engine at the end of the run, i think its time to get the mounts done.

Hopefully it will help me getting the power down a bit more too?

How much are these for the LCR now? I think my LCR now has more engine movement than my 1st one by quite a bit. I know my bushes all need doing bar the DBM, but I think I'm going to go for the THS engine mounts at some point in the near future.

Just wana tighten it all up. Would you say they're worth the money and worth doing?

I've got a Powerflex DBM, with Vibratechnics Gearbox and Engine Mount. No engine movement at all and although you get vibration in the cabin (which is to be expected), the performance difference is night and day. No tramping from wheels, just sticks and goes :D

Hmm, I defo want to get mine done now.. :)

I'm not sure what's happening with THS right now but their website is down. They still have an EBAY store but not facility to get SCN discount on that.

I was on there site yesterday and it was up and running so must just be today?

I hope so, I was planning to order the mounts before Xmas on the back of how good I've found their DBM.

Try again tomorrow buddy. I've heard good things about the THS DBM aswell, but didn't know about THS when I ordered my Powerflex about a week after buying the car.

It's eliminated the wheel hop though and the early vibration has gone so I might leave it as it is. I do want the full Superpro bushkit though as my wishbone bushes are knackered :(
