Done a good job so far Blanco92, great to see how much its changed since you first got it.

The genuine SEAT alloys for £62 were a bargain!

Thanks for the kind words Jepps. :)

Yeah, thought the alloys were good for the money. They are going to be refurbed early next year, will also be changing the front tyres at the same time.

I like to think the car is getting there, slowly but surely

hi there. how did you get that cubby hole thing to fit in where the head unit is supposed to be? i tried to put mine like that the other day & it wouldnt fit due to the 2 clip things sticking out of the sides of it at the top. do i have to file these away or something or am i doing something wrong?
thanks.

sweet car it looks real clean. you have made a good job of debadging it :) no sticky marks. did you use a polish to remove them ?

Turn it upside down and it fits in the top space.

Kidinspace has hit the nail on the head there, I didn't have to do any filing or anything, just turn it upside down. Only thing worth mentioning is by turning it upside down you are left with a few little holes in the tray, so don't go putting pennies in there! Or just get a mat for it. :)

Cheers mate. It isn't very clean at the moment due to all the grit on the roads haha! To debadge I just got the hairdryer out and warmed the glue on the letters, then carefully used an old credit card to lift the edges of the letters, then just pulled them off. To remove the glue I used Farecla G10 with an MF cloth, although any mild cutting compound should do the job. :)

Just be careful with farcela, if you over-do it it can be abrasive, i faded about an inch of my paintwork with mine haha, what a muppet I am :p

kidinspace, I noticed you're a fellow Android-er :D good taste

Did you use the G3 or the G10? The G10 is less abrasive than the G3. I don't use that anymore anyway, I've got some Menzerna stuff that I'll use when the weather get's warmer. :)

debadging is the simplist mod :) just get really hot water & some dentis floss stuff and do it that way...i did that and then just polished it with a bit of autoglym and it worked a treat :)

Slight update, have now fitted twin reflector headlamps.

Left with a problem though, when I put the main beam on the dipped goes off. If anyone has any ideas on what to do with that then I'm all ears.

No pictures though, the car is absolutely filthy minging right now so I'm rather certain it doesn't want it's picture taken!

Have a look through ScottHmk4's thread, I'm sure if fitted his about this time last year, maybe slightly earlier. He had the same issue, can't remember the fix though.
There are some photos from a meet we had last year in my readers ride - maybe a video too, that should give you a rough time frame to look for.

Scott never found a fix sadly. :(

Its annoying as it's putting me off fitting HIDs, I can't do that until I sort out this dipped/main beam issue.

In the meantime I've ordered a white dial insert, watch this space. Could be a while though as it's a 3 week delivery from Poland.

I did buy them separately, although I thought that issue was because some twin reflector headlamps had a green tint and some were just clear?

Thanks for looking though mate, I didn't see that thread despite my search.

I think I've resigned myself to making some tricky and tedious wiring alterations. :(

the car is looking well. I like the idea of inserting the fogs, have you got them wired up yet? was there much else other than the lights and the fog switch for wiring them in?

No they're not wired up yet, I plan to do it in a couple of months or so when it's a bit warmer outside.

As for wiring them in, all you need is the fogs and the switch. You will also need a fog light loom as the wires are not already in the car, you can buy a ready made loom for about £35 or make one yourself like I will be doing.
