ive just bought a seat leon 07reg 2.0tdi 16v FR

this isent a common rail lump is it? i cant find any remapping for it, it only seems to be for the CR one :/

im such a dumbarse i thought i had a great bargain, 10,000 for it with 30,000 on the clock but its the old PD loud engine is it not? i have test drove it but was more interested in the power and didnt think to listen to it at idle etc

should be the PD 170 lump!
sure revo and custom code do a map for it!

is this still a reliable engine or not so much? ive only had a quick test drive, is it still nice
and torquey etc? is it much noisier?

thanks

Will be the PD170 engine - sure its fine, DPF issues have been reported but not if you do good distances in the car or drive it hard!

You can get remaps from most of the usual suppliers for this engine

oh thats good then, i was getting myself really worried about the reliability of this lump and does it sound very tractory as i didnt get chance to have a good listen on the test drive haha

slightly noisy on cold start up but ok after that imho

Yeh Danny's right REVO dont offer PD170 Mapping

Custom Code,P-Torque and Shark Performance offer DPF Delete packages

Superchips offer a Remap

CR140 and CR170 only came about in the Leon in mid 2010 didn't it?

Nope PD140 and PD170 been around since 2005

CR140 and CR170 have been out since 2009ish but CR Block has been used in WTCC and BTCC for a few years before that

Sorry I meant CR - updated my post now. When we ordered our CR105 mid last year, our dealer was only getting information about the 140 and 170 switching over to common rail at the time.

is the engine just As reliable? is there any significant differences

The CR170 is better in the eyes of Less Noise,Cleaner,Slightly improved MPG

in Terms of Tuning the PD170 is better but nobody has really pushed a CR on here yet

i see they do dpf removal and remap for 800 quid from jbs, sounds like something to save pennies for

i dont mind the extra tractor sound, can you still hear the turbo whistle on the pd?

Yeh it whistles

Ive removed my sound deadening under the bonnet aswell and have got me boot stripped out so sound gets in everywhere
