I ve been getting some prices from local tyre centers and shops today for a pair of Uniroyal Rainsport 2's and the prices really vary, some examples:

205 17 40 84w

Cost inc fitting for 2 tyres:

Local tyre shop (special order) £295

ATs £234

Kwikfit (not rainsport but P Zeros only) £211

Purchase mail order only:

Ebay £174

Camskill £164.58

All New tyres £145

Fitting from tyre shop is £40.

I am still waiting for a couple of prices but its deffo going to set me back over £200.

How do these prices compare ? I was hoping for about £200 max really

I am in the Hatfield, St Albans area.

camskill + fitting is £204.58 ?

mine needs 2 fronts soon this is not good news lol!

oh you said fitting from tyre shop is £40, is that if you get them for £295 with them?

ring ATS and ask how much to fit supplied tyres, or ask them to price match?
mine are always friendly and would do that

Yeah £295 was all in

I took in a print out from Camskill which shows £79.80 + del. They took one look at that and said "cant get near that" and then got on the phone. They recon the cost to them was £110 per tyre.

What if i supplied, i asked?

£40 to fit seemed a bit step TBH. When i first asked they said £30 but then changed that saying that was a 16" price and 17" were a tenner more :(, whats the difference.

ATS £234.48 is best thus far. Really want to try something than PZero as i need mor grip in the wet.

£40 to fit, christ! My local tyre place said if I supply the tyres they will fit a pair for 15 quid. Thought that was reasonable, it's not like it takes hours to fit a tyre. Tom

ask your friends if they know someone who would fit for cash on saturday morning?

my brother would but iirc you're nowhere near here lol!

I used to know a mate i was at school with when i lived in Andover who worked at a local tyre shop and did fitting for a pint.

Kwikfit want £16 something torefit and balance a wheel.

I dont mind paying the going rate and if its £234 so be it but i just dont want to feel iam being ripped off.

go on google maps and type tyres, have the map quite wide over all your town/city and it will bring up all the places, I did that when looking for 195/45 R14 !

a lot more places than I had expected, then just ring around :/

Costs me a fiver a tyre. I'm having 4 Uniroyal Rainexperts fitted this weekend for £170 total. Much smaller than yours though at 185/60/14.

Anyway, Allnewtyres can supply you 2 Rainsports in your chosen size for £145 delivered. Add your £20 per tyre and £185 all in.

Edit: And Camskill are showing no stock anyway and expected despatch in March sometime.

Yep i did the map thing. A lot of tyre shops stock P Zero's but the Rainsports are a little rarer.

I will resume the hunt when i get home from work tommorow :D

Black circles, think RS 2'S were about 190 for same size.

There great tyre btw, i have them at all 4 corners now. Better than Toyo T1'R due to them lasting longer.

I'm sticking with my 195/50/15's at the mo because I get my rainsport 2's for £50 each fitted and balanced and if I went to 17's the price goes up about £30 each.:)

I've been waiting ages for camskill to get stock of the rainsport 2's back in again, so far only the V rated are on the horizon..I'd prefer W. Hankook V12's always seem out of stock too.
Does anyone know what the actual physical difference between Rainsport 2 V and W rarted is?
