I did nearly have to rethink the cone as Bill has heard it so big you cant close the bonnet
Hopefully he thinks this was due to using OE location so should go in, fingers crossed

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Certainly from an OE angle off the TIP..
Talking of which, are you modding the angle/end of the TIP to get it pointing towards the far corner of the car? How will you support the filter?

Filter will run the straight towards front an p clip bracket by MAF
Towards the front is an unknown but i will anneal some ally at work for making a temporary bracket when i come to fit

Cool, sounds interesting mate.
So yours will look almost vertical in the bay correct?
I remember seeing F2 Stu's ITG filter recently down a south east meet. It was huge and parked horizontally, so I'm trying to picture yours from something like that.. However they are a different filter in terms of dry foam compared to cotton gauze green.

A bracket will be a must from day one unless you can run it without for a bit if the filter sits snug. But all is an experiment I guess, so I bet your more excited than I am to get stuck into it.

Getting a large pile of bits to fit now, short shift turned up today too
Filter wont be vertical (up), it will have a 45 degree angle after the TIP and run towards the front (hopefully) parallel to the bonnet
I may have to lose OE air ducting at the front and withthe 45 bend and 300mm filter the bracket could be off the crash bar!

Sorry I meant vertically as in in line with the bonnet like you say. Obviously not vertically standing up Could always cut a hole in your bonnet and do it that way
Back more on topic, I've lost the front duct next to the one which is at the rear of the headlight cover, by the battery. I'm thinking about a cold air feed but unsure what to do. Will probably go 80mm ducting down to fog light if I have the bumper off anytime soon. Just another PITA job to get bumper off and on!

Which shortshifter did you get? I like mine, but I need to adjust the linkages to my gearbox using that video I saw on here a while ago. 1st gear is very notchy when cold. Almost doesn't want to go in sometimes!! Fine when warmed right up, but I'm sure it could do with some adjustment.

I got a 2nd hand forge one from a member off here, just front to back not side to side
I have a similar thing with 2nd gear so when i fit will realign if it persists it will be a gearbox oil change
Also with the new cone fitted and ducting removed i can take air straight from RH slated grill too

Small update

Bought a forge shortshift and some 10mm spacers from members on here before the classifieds closed, still not fitted but a quick pic

Also continued slowly on with the battery relocation and made up a plate to house my kill switch in the boot incase it needs to go off in a rush.

Also while the back was in pieces and nice and easily accessible i added one of these, not strictly made for the leon but a damn good fit

A few holes later all held in place and dimensions set(also probably the fiddly job i have ever done on the car

Finally with the trim back over to make it look nice

The bits where the back seats are meant to be are just the plastic paneling but no point in reinstalling when i am pretty close to actually relocating the battery
Will give some feedback on how the brace feels when i take it for a spin later

Had real problems finding the brace and people i PM'ed advised strutbracer but they no longer sell them
Demontweeks in the end, only UK seller i found otherwise its an import job

Unfortunately they are just the wrong side of a ton with delivery so quite steep but nicely made and adjustable

Popped out to get some bits and pieces earlier and sample the new taughter back end and wow
Seems so rigid and point and go, cant believe what a difference its made, would definitely recommend

Had another slightly enthusiastic drive to work this morning and cant get over the difference
Felt a big difference when adding uprated ARBs and just as much with this adding to my setup
Cant get over how connected the front and back now seem, also seems to have neutralized my over active ESP too
Maybe the front was too stiff and braced whereas the rear could flex?

Hi Ronin, great car and great workmanship on the battery re-location.

I have the Hughes engineering rear brace and coupled with the front strut brace it defo makes the car more rigid. I dont know if it helped my handling, but every little counts. A few years back a couple of members had the Hughes Engineering brace AND the omp one which i think is overkill.

Nice to see you got a great paint finish on a black car also, my friend has a black LCR and its a pig to keep clean...absolute pig.

Does the exhaust sound good?
