Sadly where ever I park outside my house, I get stuff from the trees land on the car... so after 12 hours I now have a green haze covering the shiny black paintwork :(

Mine does the same, i think it's to do with creating a static charge in the car's metal work by rubbing it with cloths etc...mine seemed to improve a bit whenever i used a finishing cloth for some reason? to be investigated further tonight :funk:

yeah i'm sure that would work, a wee bit of cable on to any exposed conductive part in your garage (like a metal light switch) or copper pipework.

pics of my boot install etc going on my thread tonight chris, make sure u have a wee looky see :D

Well, I thought about it today and spent a few bob on new cleaning products.

Finish Kare No.425 x 1L. Used as a QD however has great anti-static properties.

10 x ultra fluffy buffing towels (already got 5, and at £2 each from CleanYourCar they are amazing!!)

Original 'California Duster'. Bodywork duster for light dust. Uses a parafin wax coated cotton duster in order to pick up dust and guaranteed not to scratch paintwork. So will use this if I have a very light coat of dust (with this hot weather, it's mainly dust and no mud).

Chemical Guys 'stripper scent' for interior. Bought it just for the name

Chemical Guys drying / buffing towel.

I'll let you guys know how the 'anti-static' QD works for me, as currently I'm cleaning the beeza 2 times a week because of the dust!!

Will be the door microswitch, you have to take the doorcard out to fix it, think theres a guide in the mk4 faq section. My drivers one has gone but i cba to fix it!

Ahh okay cheers. To be honest, I'm the only person who's regularly in the car (not usually many passengers), so can't be bothered to go to the extent of playing parts behind the door card... Cheers for the info though :D

Its gonna look awesome :D

Gave her a wash yesterday and tried the FK425, doesn't seem to repel dust as it's meant to, however will update with results. Gave it a nice shine though. 1 hour later = dust dust dust :(

After months of moaning at my 'rents about the garage, I finally managed to get my dad out there with me today, to clear all the crap out of it!

The beeza finally has a nice resting spot out of the way of tree pollen :D Gave her a quick dust down with the 'California car duster' and it looks great, no need to wash :)

My dad's even said he'll insure me on his Abarth within the next couple of weeks, its only £11.50 for 4 days so win win win :D :D

What's that little circular mirror for on your wing mirror?
