Boca using oil

Hi all

has anyone else had problem with the boca using oil mine seem to using it for fun, gettin it booked in when i get back off on hols.

Is this a common problem?

Yip ... common issue. I have put two litres in over the last month or so. Some seem to be using oil while others aren't. I don't know why. My exhaust or surrounding area are not particularly black. I don't smell oil being burned. I don't really rag my car either ... just seems to be one of those things.

Well, I'm on 15500 miles and still using oil ... am not massively concerned ... as said, everything else seems fine. Just one of those things.

Im using none really now, revo & 6k. Nailed it after was warm from day one, never used sport tho just paddels. Using 5w 40 oil.

When its been lying all night. The handbook says run till service temp reached then wait 2 mins then dip.

That way it seems dry all the time... atleast for me. Anyway we don't have temp gauge so...

I always check it up in the morning when it's been lying all night

i checked mine for the first time today and it was fine, isit me though or is the dipstick really hard to read from? the dipstick in the clio was alot clearer to read..

I had this problem aswell Sly, the handbook says to let it warm up properly then switch off then wait 2 minutes then check the oil, but other people say leave it a few hours off then check.

What's best? Iv been using the way it tells you in the handbook.

As long as you stick to the same system on the same level bit of ground each time you should be fine. I leave mine in my parking spot at work and always give it until lunch time to settle before taking a reading. By measuring too soon after having the engine running you run the risk of over filling due to oil not showing on the dipstick that has not yet drained back into the sump.

Put another 2 ltrs of liquid gold stuff in mine again this week, 2 ltrs since January. 10500 miles.

I run mine, check it after few mins, had no probs check again after its sat around and diesnt really affect the oil quantity. I just curious to know wat oil people are using because it should be 5w 40 which is reccommended on service sheets. Ive had some bocs now complain of oil loss and they have been using 0w 40 and 10w 40. No idea why but there you go.

Here in Portugal they said 0W-30 for Cupra, but last time they used 5W-40 on mine. My friend got serviced @ 15k miles and they used Shell 10W-40.
