my friend has a polo GTi and I was wondering if it's possible to get a more mini cooper S supercharger noise out of them?
Would it scream more after a remap?
just in the cabin I can't really make the noise out, unlike a cooper it sounds beautiful! :D

here's a pretty pic

Remove the soundproofing from around the supercharger and you will have your whine mate hehehehehehehe. There was a thread here some where about a guy on OZ i think did it with his golf. He did put up a thread on how to some where but you would need to search for it as I am on my way out to dinner.

the reason the mini whines so much as the supercharger is in use all the time from low revs to the redline.

This isnt possible on the TSI as the supercharger disengages after 3500rpm and then its only the turbo operating. so any whine will disapear after this point

if you boot it in the right way you can get a decent whine without doing any modds.

I can't really explain it, i just know how to do it by feel... you have to be rolling slow in about second gear and then boot it 3 quarters, not fully, and it will whine nice and loud. If you boot it to hard then it will whip past the 3500rpm limit for the supercharger and just go through the gears using the turbo.

like i said..hard to explain, just have a play around and youll notice doing things that make it sound louder than others

just remove the sound isolation around the supercharger.. it's easy!

im gunna have a crack at this tomorrow i would take some pics but i dont have a camera anymore :(
