When you say 'done' do you mean physically damaged or just blocked, which in that case, could be cleared with additives.

My yoke is running grand have to say, just at first after starting in the morning and when I take off firstly it sounds like a tractor, but that's prob just the coldness in the engine.

I threw in lots of redex yesterday and took her for a razz so I'll see how she fares now in the coming days. The temp sensor is in the post. Want to change that before it goes.

Paid £8k for it. 2005 with 34k on the clock, he put 4 new tyres onto it, changed the belt and changed the water pump.
Probably paid a bit on the high side but dealers are usually a bit more expensive and I needed to get into a reliable car that was easier run than my old megane

Well you get what you pay for. That's very low mileage.

I meant the splitter though! How much was that? You prob need another set of hands putting it on! Did it fit straight on with no bother?

I got it for £21 off SERE in Belfast (they are on this site as well). That was nearly a year ago and I think the price has went up to £33 now.
Another set of hands would make it a lot easier to put on. I did mine myself though. I put it in place and taped it on to see if it was sitting right then screwed on on up through the bumper. It took about an hour for me to do it by myself.
Not the best picture of it the way the sun was shining:

Beautiful! Like the colour - it's rarer than most colours.

yeah I have done a bit of cosmetic work on mine and this is on the list of things to do.

I'm well impressed with the torque of these cars, they can beat most of the boy racers' tin cans!

Here's the cars that tried acting the feck with me and I then put the foot down:

'96 honda civic 1.6

'98 honda civic 1.4

2003 accord 2.4 i-vtech 190bhp

2003 BMW 320 m3 177bhp

The leon standard before de-cat out-ran these!

I was surprised by its performance - so was the little **** in the accord!

I dont even bother anymore with people trying it on.
Had a run in with a type r and it walked away from me.
My old R26 could fairly shift though and was quicker than a lot of so called faster cars

Yeah I couldn't be arsed either, they're only jealous is anything - i wouldn't sacrifice my pelvis getting made into dust with how hard a ride those civics hav for speed when you can't use it without getting done by the cops for it, rather I prefer having medium comfort and looks and the having power/speed too. Them Type R's have a different driving experience - you feel you're sitting on the road and for long motorway journeys you're going to need lots of paracetemol! They have to be revved out in 5th gear to make good speed too, not like our 6 speeds!

The next car I buy will be from NI, far better roads etc up there than down here and better value. It was cheaper for me to pay in Euro too for some strange reason!

Well, quick update on my smoking situ, this morning my silver slag decided the turbo couldn't be arsed working in relation with the rest of the engine, then on the way home, decided to work, but higher up the rev range and booting out a lot less pressure, whilst still smoking.
Not good.

Nearly sounds like limp mode, but it's not. What I would say it is is lots of and sticky goo built up on intake sytem and carbon and soot built up opn exhaust and turbo = turbo vanes stuck partially open = less boss so more revs needed for boost.

solution: get rid of build up. There are 3 ways I know of to do this;

1. drive her hard boosting and then coming off boost to help promote movement in the vanes.

2. use a good diesel additive - maybe one that's designed to clean out the turbo, there are lots available and a few discussed on this site.

3. turbo re-build - costly and depending on the miles your car has done, you might be advised to buy and install a new one!

The turbos been fully recond by CRTurbo engineering, vanes smoothed out etc. In May so surely it cannot be that!?
The garage had a look at it today, said no fault codes to report, and it was fine on test drive!
I thus proceeded to tell them the car shouldnt spool at 3000rpm(was starting at 1500 prior) and die off at 1.5 bar! (was going to 2- 2.2!)
After that they old me it was probably may MAF, however I'm weary of changing this as I've got custom 70mm Samco running to the turbo.
Also, upon driving home and giving it some, the car dropped off boost pressure, thus no turbo.
Then, on restart, turbo worked, a-la idle mode!
This is going to be fun, especially with a 700 mile round trip this weekend!

Sounds like a mode of some sort that engages after it's revved whilst driving (as the ECU stops the turbo from boosting too much when the car is revved but stationary.

The fact that it resets after turning it off tells me it sounds like all the 'modes' that are discussed on this site, limp mode especially. It sounds like the ecu is trying to protect the engine. This seems to happen a lot of modified cars.

any fault codes?

Nothing! However, don't think it was VAG-com, so I may find a specialist around here somewhere! The EGR has been bypassed, somthat shouldnt be an issue.
Would you recommend changing the MAF sensor, as that's all the mechanic kept harping on about!

My old 110 did this a lot when the MAF was on its way out. Goes limp until you restart it, then its fine again.

mine started smoking after putting in reddex

gona give mine an ovehaul

oil & filter change and the fuel , clean my induction kit

intercooler hoses cleaned out

i take not of the ticking noise meaning that the nozzles might be Had , as mines ticking now !?

Yeah so did mine after throwing in a measure of it and when I'm stnding behind the car and it's running it's a stingy sore eyes oily smell.

Maybe it's simply doing its job clearing out stuff - if that's the case I don't mind as long as it improves soon. It hasn't misfired after starting in a while, but then again it's used every day. I wonder how it would be if I left it for a while!

If you drive it steady for a week then drive it hard, after a few times accelerating hard does the smoke clear?
Our lass use to drive her Yaris D4D very easy and every time I drove it, two or three times taking it up to 4000rpm it'd kick out loads of smoke then be ok. If she'd been pushing it a few days before I drove it it'd be ok. I guess it's just Diesel's for ya! I couldn't tell you about this FR TDI cos she pushes it anyway.
