Never had such problems with mine! from normal driving and giving it the beans. Not been been remapped or engine modified.

Well mine would be exception if it was true but there are always exceptions

Similar story to the excess oil being used most people who ran engine I'n taking it reli careful drink oil where as other's like me whos car had a harder upbringing shall we call it hardly go throu any ??

Good thought Andy thou be intresting to see other peoples experience on it ??

Update ...

Changed plugs and got the new Ecu update

No surprise there Obv going through same solutions. As many people with this problem started with new plugs. So will see how it goes. Picking it up after work :)

in my experience (and i dealt with these muppetts loads) they will do the basics they need to do to get paid , ie change ecu ect , when you talk to them on a mechanical basis they know f*uk all about anything.
my dealer told me that a noise on my car was how a cupra should sound and he had comparred it to another cupra they had in for a service so down i went compared the 2 cars and guess what no noise on the other car.
most of what they say is because they know they cant justify the labour costs back from SEAT so you get fobbed off.
Customers and owners are not listened to because sometimes we inconvience them by turning up with a fault that doesnt always show up on their computer.

I went out on a test drive with my local master tech for a noise missfire that occured at 50 mph in 6th
gave him precise instructions change into 6th at 50 or roughly 3,000 rpm ,
we pulled out of the car park and the fecker started to drive it like he had stolen it !
hang on a inuete i said , its ok these engines like to be driven hard !
guess what couldnt replicate the problem until i drove it !

their total attitude stinks.

On mine its the compressor that has died and also its had the new ECU update. Seems to be true about the harder you paste it the more it likes it. I was fairly gentle with it and it drank oil like a tramp with a 6 pack of Tennants Super

Or maybe I just got a dog?

Resolved? I had mine light up today.

I decided against ringing them as I wasn't sure if it was an isolated occasion but it did it again today actually. Missfiring. Followed by epc light. Left it for a while turn backed on again and was fine. If it does it again I will have to give them a ring

misfiring - so yeah it lost power.

I'll call the dealers in the morning as I have the fault codes.

It's back!!!! :( :( :(

not a happy bunny. The emissions light been flashing a few times last few weeks but today the epc light followed it and ran like s#%t and felt like someone was jumping on top of it the amount it was vibrating :( so will be phoning the dealers tomorrow morning to get it booked in :( I was worried it would come back

Mark I might need your assistance again soon I'll pm you

I tell you if youve had this many problems I'd be looking for a full refund no matter how old the car is. Sales of goods act applies to all purchases, give the dealer some speil from it in writing and I bet they will bend over backwards to fix your car.

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks

Jay

What remap :)

Haha, i like it !!

love my car to bits, and after debating over and over in my head i have decided to revo it. if it goes tits up ill just have to go from there.

i think give it 1-2months and its literally going to get to the stage that seat will have to ship a load of coils, plugs and injectors to all the dealerships and with a updated ecu update it will be fixxed, or so i hope.

anyone seen any reports of the polo gti having the same problems?

Anyone thought of writing to Evo mag ? They've just got a Polo GTi and say they're interested to hear from anyone with 1.4TSi engine issues ( theirs is oil consumption related at the moment )

no need to write to them about specifics , just point them in the way of this forum ;)
