Well iv just been onto my local seat dealer (Pinchbecks) and basically said he hasn't been able to find anything out about it and until he does there us no way he will change them! Nice eh! And that also unless mine given the mileage ( 90000) would have to have a full seat service history!
Love the stealers! Think I need to go to seat themselves!

Call a couple of them and the tell you local place to contact another branch the one you contact.! Try hatfield seat that's who done mine atleast if you do that they will tell you if your car is on the list and you can go from there ?

Hi mate
Just done that! Rang snows in Southampton who were very helpful. My LPG cupra isn't on the list but ratty is! But what he did say was the list does update every week and would keep an eye on the other cupra to see if it does go on the list!
Much much more helpful than Pinchbecks!

I was passing my local dealers today and thought i would stop in and double check. After telling the guy behind the desk i was right and he was wrong he looked it up and confirmed that the customer is always right. He checked the part numbers and it`s now booked in for the 14th for new coil packs. While they were in there i asked if they would change the plugs, yeah was the reply followed by `that will be £76`. I`ll do them myself then.

I called my local dealer today, got told I would have to book the car in for an inspection to determine whether they needed replaced or not...

Going to check the part numbers at the weekend though ;)

Edit: Still on my originals from new so guess I've been lucky :D

They should be able to find out over the phone by reg or chassis number too! Mine did!

I emailed Seat in Harlow yesterday with my reg and got this reply:

Morning

Have checked and your car is not in the affected range of Cupras that require the coil replacement

Kind regards

Andrew

Should I check the part number or just take their word for it?

Told mine the chassis number and he said yeah they need changing, going by the part numbers on the first page, looks like 4 new ones for me :)

Nah they wouldn't tell me over the phone. Have to book it in and have it checked, said something about a live update or something???

Mine end in "A" so I assume I'll be getting some new ones :)

Call another branch they might be a bit more helpful.?

Just checked mine, they are all 06C 905 115 L, so no freebies from SEAT for me!

Mind you, these are the coilpacks I bought in Florida in 2002 lol :D

I had been meaning to check the part numbers on my coil packs ever since reading this thread a few weeks ago but never got round to it!

Well guess what?! yesterday my car went into limp mode, EML flashing, was miss firing, stank, drove like a pig and sounded like a scooby! I scanned the car today and got...

17734 P1326 Cyl.2-Knock Contr. Limit Attained
16684 P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
16687 P0303 Cyl.3 Misfire Detected

So I have now checked the part number on my coil packs and its 06A 905 115A so happy days! will be calling SEAT 2mo! =)

and for the record, because I and someone else asked earlier in this thread but no reply... 06A 905 115A is the coil packs I have on my 2005 BAM LCR and I have had the car from new and have never had to change any coil packs before, thus 2005 LCRs obviously don't have the latest "good" coil packs!
