Just noticed when i was demisting my windscreen if i put the car in reverse the blowers go alot faster, is this normal ?

The speed of the blowers when in reverse should be the normal speed i think as when i'm not in reverse it isnt that good tbh

anything on the secret menu to try ?
can anyone help ?

thanks

Sounds normal as the vents inside the car close so that the exhaust fumes aren't sucked inside. If you turn off the radio and put the car in reverse then into 1st you'll hear them close then open again.

Don't think the blower speed necessarily changes tho!

You got to love this MK4 feature

As mention its to stop exhaust being sucked in and turns up the fan at the same time. Its great in the freezing cold when you first start up. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Completely normal.

I think the "reverse blower" has a set speed, so regardless of what fan speed setting your climate is, it will always blow at the same speed in reverse, just to ensure exhaust fumes aren't sucked inside.

Don't see the need for it myself, I've never been in another car that I can hear clearly does this.
