Which LCR Brake Discs?

LOL - ownership of the company has no relevance to the quality/spec of their pads/products
Cheap mintex pads, have eaten disks on owners cars here..
buy cheap, buy twice addage......... and on a car like an LCR with brembos why on earth would you run cheap pads.. Same goes for OMP cheapo pads... they just dont cope with many peoples driving styles
Drive like miss daisy and probably fine... but use them in anger, expect them to wear very rapidly and wear the disks at a high rate. Simple facts from experience. I dont make sh1t up.

I'm surprised you sell EBC discs as people used to go on about them being crap.
I bet a lot of people are running Mintex pads and are perfectly happy. My point is, you don't have to waste money on stupid things like DS2500 pads, when the cheaper DS2000 do the job just as well.
People just do it because the internet tell them, a bit like fitting 007p valves when the standard one is perfectly fine and doesn't need springs changed.
Loving my new £27 Mintex pads so far. Haven't noticed any difference between them, DS2500s and DS2000s.
And I've activated the pad sensor warning again.

I've got mintex pads on mine however this is purely because I'll be changing discs in the not too distant future too so wanted to get new pads when I buy those so no point spending £100+ on pads i won't have for long however they don't seem to perform too badly.

I have used them hard and they are absolutely fine, no difference to my old DS2000 and DS2500s
No need to waste money on expensive ones.

Clearly not hard enough then.
Cheap mintex pads are nasty, and fade very easily.
You may THINK you're driving fast, but perhaps you're just not that quick?
I've seen so many threads on various forums where people say ''yea, xxxx is fine for track use, I've used them for years and never had a problem'' or words to that effect.
When the truth is, unless you know how that person drives, it's a meaningless statement.
They may well be fine for Mr. Average who's not going all that quick (but thinks he is), but for someone who's actually quick, said part could well be rubbish.
Again, along the same lines, if you've never use your DS2500's hard enough, and never bedded them in how they need to be, you will never have had the full performance from them anyway....

Still loving these pads and prefer them to DS2500 & DS2000s.
When I need to change I will be buying them again and saving myself a lot of money.

Bill - very interesting comment on cheapy Mintex pads, I actually had presumed they would wear the disc less as I guessed they would be softer.. not true?! Is it caused by higher temps when using cheap pads?
Would it be a smart move to revert to Brembo pads now, having done about 6000 miles with Mintex pads on new discs? Don't want to wreck new discs for the sake of being cheap on the pads!
Would definitely agree that depending on driving style, if you are accustomed to the Brembo pads, switching to the Mintex can produce some dangerous situations because the outgassing and resulting fade happens without warning and usually on high speed panic stops (I've been there).

I'm pretty sure as Bill is well respected and runs a brilliant set up down in Gloucestershire, I would follow his advice, the cheapie pads may seem a good idea but its sods law the moment you really need them they will let you down.

Had quite a few emergency stops and crazy driving experiences against insane Range Rover Sport drivers.
Impressed me all the way.
£27 Mintex and no luck needed as of yet.

The £27 Mintex pads are still working great! Certainly haven't needed "luck"
LOL, I would rather the oem pads over the mintex ones, I burnt through a set in about 5k, they started to disintegrate and would rumble when braking from higher speeds to a near stop, they could not handle the heat and don't get me started in the brake dust they melted to my alloys.
For everyday just go stock.
Well I have a set of ds2500 pads and I'm about to change them. Not sure if I'll go for another set tho as there bloody noisy. Might go for yellow stuff pads.
I would say the noise maybe more form your grooved disc's rather than pads.I have run 2500's on OEM discs and had no noise issues.
What sort of noise is it?
It's like a very loud whirring noise. I can actually feel it through the steering. I've just bought a set of ebc turbo grooved discs as well so looking for decent pads to match.
i've just fitted ebc plain discs and brembo pads; the disc's seemed mighty weighty to me just wondering if anyone knows if they much heavier then other OEM type discs?
