cheers mate, will get onto him now![]()
will do mate cheers,
decided im gonna go hybrid the other day, got my mate pricing up some parts now lol thought to my self if im getting the rods done they can hold alot more power screw it lets hybrid that turbo haha
Ah really? Tbh mate if you want to notice the extra power, go big turbo. I don't think you'll gain much from a hybrid over a circa 300bhp LCR, very minor gain IMHO.
I'd want to see the other side of 350bhp like 370bhp that the TFSi Mk2 Cupra's make at stage 2+. So a Garrett GT2871 turbo would be my choice if I was doing it. I think hybrid can end up pricier than people think..
It's very experimental too so don't be surprised to come across a few issues along the way dude. But good luck with it if you do it and hope it goes as smooth as possible.
If you want to talk to someone about hybrid's talk to rsmith (Robbie) on here. He has a wealth of knowledge on them, without slating his hybrid move if I could be critical I would say from his RR that it's taken him a good while to be happy with his setup and he's added WMI etc to get there. Have a good think about what you really want from the car over it's current tune and what's worth the investment.

Ha, Screw you t0m, but yeah you are right, the Hybrids are still, " Experimental" in my view, very hard to get right and no 2 cars react the same, i have gone through 2 hydrid turbo's and about 20 or so remaps to get it right and we are still tweaking.
What i would say is the low down torque of the hybrid's is awesome, full boost by 3300rpm and your away, great for sprints, top is is good but not BT good.
I am not a fan of my power band being from 4*00rpm up, it losses drivablity for me, but thats a personal descision.
@ LCRMartin, Would you not consider a small frame turbo's, GT28rs, spooled by 3500rpm or even check out Paul-murphys EFR build.
Also check out Frankenturbo he will have a new F23 coming online soon thats very promising.
320bhp is realistic if done right, go to a happy Dyno, (cough Awesome) and the skys the limit, but cost between a Hybrid and a GT28rs are not far apart all things considered.

thing is at the same time if i went BT it kind of effects the drivability i mean i use mine as a daily and if i was gonna go such big power it would be worthless :-/ my mate Ali at Unit 18 is currently expermenting on a hybrid 18t on a bora if all that goes well i might hand him mine to do...
id be more then happy with 320-330bhp if it could reach that if i could get that and keep near enough the same torque i got now i think i could be onto a winner haha
Cheers mate, yea i will be keeping it for some time, hybrid does seem to come out a better option at this point in time, ill be more then happy with a 330bhp daily with the curves of a LCR lol dont think i could ever get bored of that shape lol
No because even that engine is uglierLol.
No because even that engine is uglierLol.
Oh I do know that
Which is why I'll be getting the S3 to get looks aswell![]()
It's mainly the Quattro, leather, s-tronic and bose sound system really, LOL.
