Yes they are,
Looking on the ordering system
There will be a tec pack so I bet that might be a package like bi-xeon tomtom kit/new mii satnav and maybe leather ?

Having the cupra as a petrol keeps it a pure drivers car, rather than focussed on MPGz and economy. Which dilutes the overall driving experience.
Surely the whole idea of the twincharge 1.4 was to get performance & economy?
Up to a point i will agree.
However - I and many others can't or don't want to own 2 cars so the Quick diesel is the best way for us.
A 185hp TDi ibiza is nice to play with at the weekend - but still capable of 50+ mpg on the daily drive during the week.
Yes and no. The 1.4 TSI provide excellent performance and economy (MPG, insurance tax).
The economy side of things was far more geared for low C02 emissions rather than MPG.
MPG is a plus point but not the main goal for the engine, remember the Cupra has to compete with the likes of the Corsa VXR, Clio 200 which have far more MPG figure yet are still popular, so it is very clear that MPG alone does not sell performance hatches.
The 1.4TSI was always going to be a performance engine hence it being offered in the top of the line Cupra.
True however, unless I was driving over 10K miles per year I would not consider a diesel. The extra cost per litre would have to yield significant MPG increase for it to be worth the outlay and over shorter difference, the advantages of a diesel just do not reflect this.
I would start harping on about DPF filter and injectors etc but then I remembered I own a 1.4TSI so I don't really have a leg to stand on in the reliability stakes!

surely low CO2 emissions and good MPG go hand in hand?
I'm in the 15K+ milage bracket and the other deciding choice was that the 2.0CR TDi seems to be one of the reliable engines in the VAG range.
The DPF can be a PITA but it's workable - and there is always the DPF delete + remap for 200+ bhp and still 50+mpg
This is true, I haven't got any evidence to back it up but I am sure C02>MPG for car manufacturers.
See you have made the right decision when choosing your car. It's people that own a diesel "because it's cheaper" when they do sub 10K that I truly don't understand.
Perhaps they like the torque or something, but yeah it doesn't make sense. I'f I did less miles I'd go back to petrol, far smoother, especially in rush hour traffic.
The 1.6 TDI can be a bit jerky, first gear is a bit "all or nothing"
See diesel owners always use the torque argument. However the torque power band is so short they end up with a lot less usable torque than in a petrol.
In fairness the Cupra and Fr 1.4TSI are very torquey engines, especially for their size and HP outputs. Their rev ranges annd DSG box allows them to make it far more usable.

With regards to the interior shots....
Don't like the dash instrument surround, don't like the new vents in the Climate Control Unit. The only thing I think is an improvement is the new glovebox lid!!! Wonder if it will retrofit......
I think the interior is a bit of a disapointment, to be honest... Seat could have done so much better without spending a fortune.
As far as the outside goes, I'm stil not impresed - well apart rom the LED tail lights. Would be good if they fit the current model, though opinion seems devided on this.
Yes my tuned FR won’t deliver the power in the same way as a petrol engine but it’ll still be big fun!:

The post by j500uk really makes a point. The current twin clock surround looks like the progressive, more stylish upgrade from the previous rather naff and bland open surround.
A real shame that the down grade is with the facelift: SEAT...FAIL
Seat obviously used to think so as the MK4 Ibiza had a diesel Cupra.
I’d think about it, but I’m still having big difficulty liking the pictures of the “new” Ibiza.![]()
Seat could get away with labeling TDi as Cupra on the MK4 because there was only 20ish BHP between that and the petrol versions on both Leon and Ibiza.
The Mk5 Leon Cupra is more powerful than the Mk4 Cupra R and I don't think anyone would've taken the 170PS TDi seriously as a Cupra when there would be a 70 BHP difference and a quicker, more powerful petrol FR.
