What would you do next?

Current Spec:

- Stage One remap by Carbon Tech
- Forge 007
- Green panel filter
- Drilled airbox
- Powerflow CAT back exhaust
- N249 mod
- Uprated brakes (disks, pads and lines)
- Uprated suspension bushes
- Cupra R splitter, LED lights, Fabia wiper, Teardrop mirrors

Boost gauge, nomad pillar to go on shortly...

So what would you do next?

Not really interested in body mods as love the current look... She is a sleeper than I can turn up to meetings in without looking like a boy racer :)

Front mount Intercooler, sai and egr removal, decat and downpipe,de-mesh airmass meter and a forge tip.pretty much the spec off mine but I got a custom code map now and I'm blown away with the way it drives, the best mod ive done was my decat and downpipe, changed my throttle response and turbo spool time aswell

Supposedly makes the airflow better and stuff, does kinda make sense when you look at how much mesh there is in each end.not sure if it does make a difference but someone one on here told me about it

Hi mr OCD, out of interest how does your exhaust setup sound and on the same note the drilled airbox and green filter? These are things I'm looking into for mine you see. I've seen your car briefly on the m60 it is very nice indeed, not sure if you can improve on it, mines got tt/s3 hubs on and it does corner nicely but I'm not sure if this is something worthwhile? The previous owner did it on mine along with a few other things. Take it easy 20vroper (Manchester too!)

Well if your only up the road fella your welcome to meet up for a chat... I'm sure Carl (loud) will be up for it as well...

Exhaust sounds nice but reckon the downpipes / decat will bring it alive ... The drilled airbox makes the car a little more responsive and you can hear the DV more...

Boost gauge and service then will sort out decat / downpipe... Will sort fmic then give it a remap again...

Nice that I've been spotted as don't use the car much these days... I'm generally found on a red Yamaha R1 :)

surely taking the mesh off would increase the chances of damaging the sensor. I would asume there on ther for a reason?

hi mate, it was a few years ago that I spotted your car (recognised the OCD reg!),
I was in contact with Loud off here a while ago when he was having probs with his car, i suggested you were the better option than me on technical issues! Is there not some kind of leon meet up in Manchester at all? I've not seen the manc union gang nr krispy kreme for a while ! 20vroper.

Coilovers or other uprated suspension, roll bars & struts........will tighten things up and handling wil be better

Coilovers are not suited to the road TBH ... been down that route before ... unless going to track the car its pointless. Uprated ARB's, shocks and bushes are the way to go... IMHO.

Why's that fella? - where from?

Aye I've had the car just over 4yrs or so now ... the longest I've ever had a car. I love it!

I'm sure we can arrange something!

I've found a decat / downpipe on ebay for £90 ... any good ?

uprated TIP as the original one is know for collapsing under load. Normally a silicone job can be found on ebay

Bigger to allow more air in ;)

Yeah them £90 ones are fine.

The LC180 tip doesn't collapse as they are made of metal! They are just so damn restrictive.

Excellent :)

I'm sure it wont be too hard to fit... ;)

So that's decat / downpipe (seperate?) and TIP to install then ... that should free up a few more horses ... :D

Going to install the boost gauge first so I can see if the car boosts more with the extra bits on it and if it does will get the map modified accordingly...

Cheers Lee... :)

eBay seem to be knocking them out for £89 for both parts... not bad at all.

My Powerflow guy will fit and join up to existing system for me at the end of the month.

i thought only diesels had egrs? and you can buy jbs maf surrounds, metal with no mesh?

de-mesh airmass meter

what does de meshing the air mass meter do ???

The mesh is there to stabilize the air flow over the sensor, "apparently" if you remove it the G/S readings are not as reliable as the ones with it meshed, in some cases it has been shown to show a rise in the G/S reading but a drop in BHP. I ran mine for along time un meshed and didn't have any running issues at all, but i have now returned to the meshed version though cant say i have noticed any difference, but i haven't run any logs to see if the G/S reading have changed.
