Hey,

Had my LCR since 2008, owned it since 28k on the clock (now has 160k!), it's been a real work horse doing the 350 miles a week minimum commute, now my milage is a bit lower it's time to revive the old girl and give her the TLC she deserves (car is called leony btw). All the miles has taken it's toll on the car.

Current Issues to be addressed
1. Damage to rear bumper, OS corner (due to reversing into a low trailer)
2. Damage to front bumper, NS corner (appeared in a car park!!)
3. Damage to bonnet near center grill (caused by a dog)
4. Drivers seat mounting plate has snapped from chasis
5. NS wing mirror folding mech broken
6. Running lean (error codes for long term lean running)
7. Cup holder mechanism broken
8. Climate Control Screen leaking fluid
9. Rear washer doesn't work

Current issues that have now been fixed
1. OS window switches not working .... replace with genuine ones from TPS

And in general it needs a bit of TLC, in regards to the engine it has a full service history since new, never been missed and always used genuine parts, it's cam belt has always been done before it's due date, again using genuine parts and water pump. It did have a failed cam belt at 70k due to a faulty new tensioner, but this was repaired free of charge on garage insurance.

Anyhow ... current area's of the car which I have addressed ...

Engine Mods
1. Remapped
2. Pipercross PP1389 Panel Filter
3. Brand new Bosch MAF
4. Brand new Bosch Lambda's
5. Brand new Thermostat

Exterior

Interior
1. MTX Audio Door Speakers all round
2. Cubby hole where CD changer was

Here's some old pictures, this was taken back when I first got the car so doesn't reflect the problem areas, pictures to come to reflect those.

Welcome to the "sorting out a neglected LCR" club. Looks like a solid enough base to build upon and having had her for so long/covered so much ground you should know it inside and out!

Postman has come yet again today

IMAG0339.jpg

A nice selection of little tweaks including LED interior bulbs, led number plate, stumpy aerial and led fogs.

Still to fit the fogs, but the rear plate LED's and the reverse lights are awesome!

Firstly, delivery from TPS with replacement parts for the crankcase breather setup, my main pipe had collapsed and the PCV valve had a crack in it when the head was rebuilt, replaced the other valve just because it was worth doing at the same time.

Secondly, the postman delivered my final bulbs, so I now have a full LED setup on the front, LED Fogs, LED Sides, LED side repeaters and LED full beam, which should complement my 6k HID kit for main's, photo's to follow once fitted.

My next steps is to steam clean the engine bay, silicon hose most of it, tidy it up inc painting the caps, covers etc, new bolts, tidy up my HID kit, smooth the air box and refurb the wheels & calipers oh and get some new mats.

Been a productive evening after work ...

Firstly, I've installed all the interior LED's, it's ultra bright inside now and a 'daylight' 6k ish colour.

IMAG0366.jpg

Secondly, I've removed all the sound proofing from the bonnet, I've got plans for this :)

IMAG0361.jpg

I've also installed the LED H3's for the fogs, so the car has a 6k look, all LED in the front now

IMAG0364.jpg

The longest job was smoothing and drilling the airbox, plus a quick respray in black to freshen it up. In conjunction with the pipercross panel filter, it sounds fab, can feel much better response and was worth the effort.

IMAG0359.jpg

IMAG0358.jpg

And lastly, whilst i had the front grills off to replace the fog lamps with the LED's I noticed the grills where going a bit odd colour wise, so gave them a spray and some clearcoat too, image shows an original at top and a sprayed one below (first coat, before clearcoat).

IMAG0362.jpg

Not sure what's next on the list ... we will see.

Another quick update, just done the N249 bypass :)

Nothing special, just made use of some 5mm fuel line I had laying around and a 5mm right angle connector I had left over from some old screenwash tubing.

Still the original turbo, but has had a gearbox recon and a clutch

You can remove all but the solenoid itself for the n249 - cleans things up nicely :)

Before and after I did mine at post #16 here:
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=411774

Thank's for that, may take it a step further :)

Anyway, time for sunday's antics! finally replaced the OS rear door handle carrier so my blanking plug is back in and secured!

So from this

IMAG0316.jpg

to this

11412339_10152803539487721_7046358776762377544_n.jpg

Will bring some 'sticky stuff removal spray' home to get the remains of the tape residue off and then that's that bit sorted, starting to look closer to being a normal car now :)

Whilst I had the door open I replaced the remaining rear speakers too, I had already done the fronts as my delightful daughter had blown them, so the rears are now done and matching too, didn't get anything special, just some basic MTX Terminators but they sound better than the stock ones.

Old speaker removed, simple job of drilling the rivets out

1513653_10152803539567721_8977899672045323547_n.jpg

New speaker adapter ring installed

11425202_10152803539527721_14012594601628809_n.jpg

Not sure if it shows, but I resealed the carrier panels whilst the door cards where off, just to be preventative regarding any leaks :)

And finally the new speaker seated in place.

The next step is the climate control unit in the front, picked up one for a mere £30 with a working display so time to get that changed.

Bargain at just £30, will get this fitted so I can finally see what my climate control is doing! unlike the leaky screen one I have currently.
