Stuff doesn't have to be associated with the performance market to be able to take a specified torque. With regards to 'silent' it will never be a true silent SMF, due to how the boxes are built. So people buying it expecting it to be silent are kidding themselves.

Yep, buy OEM clutch if you want the same noise levels.

No one cares about chatter if its very slight when your out gunning the car! :)

Exactly my point! there's a lot of people out there bitching about things, but not one of them has actually had this clutch off us?

I'm yet to find anyone who's had this clutch give it a bad write up or even ring up and complain!!

To Al @ Awesome GTI: can you categorically confirm or deny whether you have sent out these clutch kits with stickers containing the word "Techniclutch" on?

You have tried to dodge the issue twice now, and your customers deserve to know this.

Leon2012 I am proper f****d off with you now. I bought this clutch and it is amazing, I wanted to share my excellent and well priced purchase with other SCN members. This is the only thread I have ever started that has (for what appears to be no reason) been categorically attacked by a user member.

I asked Awesome Al to read this thread and post info on it because I also wrote an excellent review on their Awesome GTI sponsored forum page.

There are discussions/open forums/disagreements but what you are saying and acting I would say doesn't fit into the rules of this forum.

This clutch is amazing! End of!

I wouldn't bother getting pissed off pall it's obvious no one values his opinion (that's based on Chinese whispers) I would personally like to thank you for the review and input as I'm now 100% sold on this clutch and will be buying one next week you've answered all my questions along with the input from awsomgti thanks again!

I recently ordered the "heavy duty sprung clutch and flywheel" from Awesome GTI consisting of a single mass clutch and flywheel assembly with a heavy pressure plate to still give it that oem feel.

DSC_0045.jpg

It is fitted now and seriously wow! Worth every penny especially if you have or are going to remap your car. I'm running 280bhp and 313lb torque and it was the torque that killed my last clutch (oem on 60,000miles)
The clutch pedal is lighter, the engine and the power is more responsive on a general drive - and when I put my foot down - instant power :) I'm a very happy guy right now!! £625 for the part and £280 to fit it... So not cheap but really worth it.

Anyone else bought one of these? I found it was the best and cheapest single mass performance clutch on the market.

Let me know your thoughts

I'm sorry if I'm asking questions that have already been asked but I only skimmed through half the tread due the BS. I know it's difficult as you old clutch was dying but is the clutch much firmer or hard work in traffic? Also how much faster does the engine rev now. As I said earlier I wish I'd have known about this clutch when I replaced mine. I haven't had anything fitted at Awsome yet, how did you find the service?

I know what you mean I REALLY want my car to have a SMF. How long do these standard clutches last :(

Mate the clutch feel completely OEM, but with a great clamping feel, seriously dont know what the problem is....I hope it has lots of stickers on it, maybe one from NASA saying "moon ready" would be nice it makes no difference. Al i'm gonna ring and complain that Awesome's new clutch is giving me migraines due to the loud sound of chinese "whispers".

I have actually found that my clutch pedal is much lighter then what it was before. There is no extra noise or vibration in any rev range - and when ur put your foot down it holds it do good and im running 280bhp and 313lb torque.

I can't recommended this more. I ordered the clutch online but spoke to Awesome before hand to have my questions answered. I can't comment on Awesomes fitting as I ordered it and got my local VAG garage to fit it for £280. They said it fitted perfect with no problems and when they test drove it after fitted they said they were very surprised at the way it felt and the distinct lack of noise from a SMF!

Hope that answers your questions further.

LEON2012 does come across as a bit of a c0cky twat but I for one would be very interested in awesome gti's response to his final question. Just to settle it once and for all really.
