cupra tdi uneven tyre ware?

my rear tyres are wearing unevenly on the inside edge one part of the tread has worn low the next section is higher and the car makes a rumbling noise which i assume is coming from the uneven tread? Any ideas what causing it? Is this a common fault? As ive just bought the car i dont know if the rear tyres have been swapped from the front recently or not.

Mine are the same, wouldnt worry about it mate common on front wheel drive cars.. Caused by cornering at speed

I have never heard of the inside tread on fwd cars wearing unevenly on the rears.

Get your alignment and tracking checked. Camber could be out.

I dont know if my tyres on the back were on the front as i just bought the car. I will keep an eye on the front tyres as see if they do the same.

The rear alignment and camber can also be out. For the sake of £30 id get a 4 point alignment done.

yeah i will get it checked when i get some new tyres as all 4 havent got much tread left.

Backs can't be adjusted  its common from high speed cornering the rear tyres skip as such causing feathering or stepping! Common on alot of cars these days esp front wheel drive

Worth checking tyre pressures too, and keeping an eye on them. I need to get mine checked as the rears constantly drop to ~13psi

Because a car has 4 points - 4 wheels! The rears are fixed so the fronts need to be adjusted/aligned to match the rear when pointing straight. It's also not called "4 point alignment", it's "4 wheel alignment"!
