Obviously all of them will be etched in, and will be fully etched, or "coloured in" if you like with the laser.

I'm thinking for the FR badge though, having just the outline done, instead of the full fill, as in these ones?...

Oh...by the way... I think they all come with the companies mark somewhere on them, like the SRi ones... but that's not a problem for me.

Right chaps, I've been up to Lockwood this morning & they've measured up the sills ready for production of the protectors!

Can I first off just check that the sills on the pre-FL are the same as the FL? (image below)... as if not, I need to let them know.

Anyway... They've got a good little set up there I have to say...
The general jist is this: They measured up the sills, & the top part of the sill where it drops down a fair bit is near enough the same as the Golf, which makes life easier for them. The middle lip of the 3 on the sill will stay bare, as it's never really kicked... And the flat at the bottom will have a protector on. (quick mock up below, very artistic. I should go into graphic design...!!) Also on my mock up... it isn't to scale, it's just that general shape lol.

In terms of design... I put forward all of our afore-stated ideas & they're going to do some digging on whether they're allowed to use them (Copyright...) & then he'll get back to me. Please be aware that they might not be able to use any of the designs we want, in which case the plain ones will have to do.
I'm going to just have a line through mine, or plain, however they come I'm not fussy (yeah right)!

Production of the first set will now take 3/4 weeks because they're hammered with work at present, so unfortunately it's a waiting game now! Boooo!

Now design wise Im not that fussed either as may be able to get something done from an engraving place. Also will the custom sills be along most of the length?

And as you stated the only thing I need confirmed is if PRE FL/FL sills are the same

Yeah... NO group buying...

They'll be most of the length I think, and the top one extends underneath the rubber door seal.

I have a 2007 Pre Face Lift Leon. And I just noticed that Im going to be away on holiday when these are made so wont get to see them till end of july.

I can't wait for them to be ready!
I'm 99% sure they won't be able to put FR on it, because it'll be copyright. Fingers crossed that they can though!

Unfortunately not bud. I'm not in the Leeds area. Try Googling 'Metal Engraving Leeds'? Not tried myself, but could be worth a shot

Yeah mate. Mine will be the prototype and will be used to make sure they fit right etc... Once theyre right they'll leave them on the car. Thats basically what he said.

Quite happy really. Makes up for the fuel used and the morning off work i guess

They look great with the seat sport logo pressed into the metal , you might want to try and make a similar design.
These cost £70 delivered, so he might be able to make them cheaper for the benefit of everyone else..
