Hi guys looking for ideas for boot install an try keep as much boot space as possible to keep wife happy lol. Was hoping some of you would put some pictures of you installs so can get some ideas cheers in advanse

I was planning on putting a slimline sub in the left corner where that little net thingy was.

Built into a box so you'll probably only lost about a foot of boot space (if that) width ways and put some strong mesh over the speaker so it won't get damaged when you've got loose stuff in your boot.

That's just my plans anyway so I don't have a picture but you get the idea

I've not got any photos at the moment but I made a custome box on the left side. Its the width of the 'single' fold down seat and fits in the full length of the boot, it is also just under the height of the boot lip. I used an old JBS bass tube (like this one http://www.be-loud.ro/data/product91.jpg) and removed the subs and amp then made the box with the same volume as the tube (a bit of maths required). Put some carpet around it and hey presto...cost about £20 all in as I got the tube from ebay.

Just followed a guide on the forum for the amp power etc and also put in a new headunit....job done and the sound is mint. Also, loads of room in the boot for shopping and the pram!

^ how much does the false floor raise the boot by?

I did an install (old Ibiza FR) simular to above, took out the spare wheel and recessed sub in that. Then mounted the amp on the back of a seat.

Didnt lose any space, just had to carry a can or two of tyre weld...

Yeah im def going to make the front section from MDF and just mould it into the FG back section.

I have an Aura 8" that ill be using. I have it in the car at the moment in a normal box and its perfect for my tastes, fills in the lack of bass well.

Looking at the little net thingy on the left, doesn't look like its raised the floor at all. Looks sweet though!!

On the contrary, from the net pocket you should've realised that the floor is indeed raised, about 10cm as well. It couldn't be otherwise, as there's plenty of stuff hidden underneath it.

But apart from that, it's a 100% practical boot and I can throw whatever I want in it without fear of breaking something. :)

For a much smaller install, you could probably get away with a custom FG box on the side* and an amp hidden somewhere else. This is what I've done in my other car and it works a treat.

*similar to what hubbly_bubbly has shown above. Good work btw. I've done a tutorial in another forum you could read for more ideas. :)

Sounds good mate. Sound wise that's pretty much why I'm after, just a tad more oomph :D

Did the whole eyeball rattling, hair fuzzing thing when I was 17

Think builds like that are awesome to look at and I can really appreciate the work that's gone into it...

BUT

Just far too impractical for me. No where to put me tool boxes and I can't afford a van AND a car

mine is still practical , if i need to put something that fills the boot , i just cover the 2 amps and remove the sub box , only 2 wires , plus the vinyl is very hard wearing and is easily washed / cleaned.

when my sub is in the car , either side is used all the time , it actually suits the shopping run to tesco nicely stops the bags falling over lol lol

where do you lot put your shopping? or golf clubs? or dead bodies? not a fan of the boot install myself, i can appreciate people wanting to do it but its always seemed a bit 'max power' if you get me. anyway each to their own.

Let me put the picture once more in case someone missed it. :)

This is AFTER the install was done, it's hidden under the carpet. I can carry and have in fact lots of times carried anything you can imagine, from bicycles to tool cases and from tv's to Corian counters.

And the bonus is, now when I fold the rear seat, I have one flat surface I can use, instead of the stepped one (damn you SEAT for cutting costs and not putting a proper reclining rear seat in the Leon).

Dead bodies only fit in the Leon when chopped up though because you only have the boot space to use without folding the seat, otherwise they'd be visible. :D

Rob, nice job man. :)

i dont think you can fit golf clubs in a leon boot..not mens anyway. i have been researching!

please prove me wrong

surely you can??? I used to be able to fit mine in my Honda civic which I'd imagine has a smaller boot than the Leon... going to try it now lol I'm scared they won't go in! haha you would imagine its a design standard for a car of Leon size :)
