Hi Peeps,

Just wanna know whether THIS kit will fit my car (2010 LCR), Or do i need a different kit!?

http://www.gnjmotorsport.com/produc...%2d2.0T-Edition-30{47}S3{47}TTS{47}Cupra.html

Also would you guys be able to advise whether or not i'd be safe to run this Induction along with a Turbo Back Milltek system that i beleive has the sportcat included! (no MIL lit up on dash so far!) - without having to go down the remap route!????? (don't really want the extra expense of remapping if poss!)

If the cars standard maps can cope happily with these two mods combined then i'll more than likely be happy to leave it at that as i'm NOT chasing BIG BHP numbers as the car can only "just" lay 2nd gear now so i don't want to be getting into total tyre shredding territory, Just kinda always liked to hear the wastegate chattering away on turbo cars (chavvy to some i know!!) & if it DOES prove too intrusive i could always go back to o.e induction n sell it i spose!!!

Just want to make sure i'm safe and i won't be stepping outside the bounaries of what the car can cope with! - if it DOES mean remap time, then tbh i might well leave it!!!

Advice please guys, & cheers in advance!

P.s - part of the reason WHY i'm choosing this kit is Yes - because it's relatively cheap, but also because i'm sure i've read on here in the past that you can fit this kit and mod the engine cover to go over it too!!!? - To that end is there a thread kicking about that explains what needs to be modded on the cover to make it fit!? (assuming i'm right that is!)

Yep intake will fit and the standard map will work fine with the exhaust and intake. With it been a sport cat it "may" through a warning light but i doubt it.

I would deffo map it, the pedal isnt an on/off switch plus engine mounts are pretty cheap and help alot with wheel spin and wheel hop!

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your response matey, but can you possibly elaborate a little on the engine mounts comment please!??

Also why Would you advise mapping the car if it will be fine on the standard maps!??

JBS are local to me so I may pop down there at some point and ask them if they can run it up (pretty sure they have rollers!) so the AFR can be checked just for my complete piece of mind!!

Just want to be totally safe with any modding I do and stay well within safe parameters so that I minimise any risk of damaging things, and I know how quickly lean AFR's can lead to problems!!

Cheers Matt!

Well because a mapped Cupra is an absolute weapon thats why [B)]

FR3 engine mounts will replace your old engine mounts and keep the engine from lurching under hard acceleration and also make gear changes smoother, Eliminate wheel hop and vastly improve putting power to the road from a dig. The FR3 mounts are the most "friendly" aftermarket mounts and dont really raise cabin noise at all.

I have the BSH side mounts and the FR3 lower mount and it just works, honestly one of the best mods i did! They do transmit some noise into the cabin which is commonly described as the engine Grrrring at you

I would go to statllers instead of JBS but thats just me, dont like JBS :cartman:

Steve jnr will tell you to get a map on it though as will JBS. Shame not to really with the potential this engine has and the mods your doing.

Oh crickey - this all sounds expensive!!!!!:help:

FR3 mounts???, Any links pointing me straight too what you're talking about chap??

If the only reason to get it mapped is because it will turn it into a beast, then i think i can resist temptation (for now anyway!!) as it would seem silly to get it all done and then i decide soon after that i DON'T like the induction noise!! Like i say as long as the car will DEFINITELY be 100% safe in terms of AFR's with these two mods on the standard map - then that will do me for now "tuning wise", Ok - that MAY change if i feel the need to go hassling E46 M3's at some point, but i can resist that temptation for now atleast!!

You DO have my curiosity though with regards to these mounts you mention as i really hate it when you get wheel hop and ya going up the road with a "bang, bang, bang" coming from the front wheel/wheels!, and i'd deffo like an even better gearchange if poss too!

Also draft design shifter bushings are good for improved shifting http://store.42draftdesigns.com/VW-Shifter-Bushing-Set--Mk5-5S-MY08-09_p_282.html

For the bushings be sure to order the right year based on your car ;)

Well if you dont like the intake noise then just take the intake off the map will still be fine without it. Also if you want the wooooshing sound on throttle let off the forge spacer is what you want http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=190206&product=FMDV14T

You can get more chatter out of the forge spacer tbh. Ive had both an ITG and the spacer on and the chatter was very loud. Got bored of that so tuck the spacer off and its pretty quite now really. Intake and dv spacer is what you want i think.
