Hey, i recently bought some white/blue headlight bulbs. Just an upgrade from the standard bulb, as i couldn't be bothered with the hids i bought. Anyways i realised the side lights stay on whilst i use the headlights. So i have white head lights and halogen sight lights. Doesn't look great as you can imagine. I bought some LED white sidelights from halfrauds, they wouldn't work i just got bulb malfunction light. Where can i get some white side lights to even it out. Thanks

Cheers mate, il give them a try. Going look like a good for a while.

LED sidelights look silly next to halogen 'white' headlights such as Osram Nightbreakers.

You can get a normal halogen Phillips BlueVision side light which is incredibly white, and a perfect match for the likes of Nightbreakers. (Despite being called BlueVision)

Thats the exact setup i have in my headlights, osrams with bluevision sidelights. So it would be pointless in switching the sidelights to LEDs?

I had nightbreakers and led sidelights before and they do look a little silly. If you want LEDs they go best with HIDs.

That's great. I'm going to look for those sidelights but I have to either find or order load resistors first since all the sidelights I've tried gave me errors on the dashboard and completely stopped working after like three or four seconds of being on. I have HIDs in my dipped beam and fog lights and I want sidelights that can match the HIDs in color because, well, they're always on and yellow just ruins the look. I also have Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs in the high beam but it definitely isn't as white as HIDs are, but at the same time they're much brighter and stronger than normal halogens, so I'm happy.

Ahh that's a good shout. I'll give 'em a go thanks. I was worried that they would bt to blue compared. Thanks dude

I went and picked up these sidelights a few ago but haven't installed them yet. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-W5W-Osram-Halogen-Cool-Blue-Intense-Sidelight-Bulbs.html

The store has these and Philips Blue Vision side light bulbs but this, as the man told me, are brighter than the Blue Vision bulbs even though they're slightly cheaper.

I also asked him about the CANBUS issue, and he told me that they are standard halogen bulbs, not LEDs or such, which will work just as fine as the OEM ones do.

I'll be installing them later tonight and taking pictures; here's to hoping they'll work fine.

By the way, exactly where are the sidelights located in order to replace them? Are they under the high beam bulbs? As in you remove the black rubber thing and you find them? And are they easy to replace? Any clips that need to be removed or do you just rotate them till they snug in?

Thank you.

Remove the rubber cover. Locate the sidelight bulb holder (under main beam) and then push the tab in and pull the holder out! Then pull out the bulb and replace with osram, and put it all back!

@ Tarek - I'm sure those sidelights will be fine.

I found that when I had the LED sidelights, the colours were a bit off. Obviously the Nightbreakers aren't pure white, and still have a hint of yellow, and the LEDs kinda looked blue next to them.

Thank you for the tips, guys.

I successfully replaced the sidelights with the Osram ones I bought, and it took me less than 5 minutes even though that was my very first time and at night in the dark! It's probably the easiest bulb to replace in the whole car.

Anyway, I cannot say I'm happy with the result, but at least satisfied since it definitely is much brighter than the standard yellow sidelights that come with the car, however not even close in terms of brightness to my 6000K HIDs, but that's expected from a standard halogen (4000K) sidelight bulb. The best thing is that it doesn't give any errors, mainly because it's halogen, of course.

This is the result:

As you can see, it's brighter than the standard yellow sidelights.

This is what they look like with nothing else on. They actually look very decent, in my opinion.

You cannot really see it here, but if you look closely you'll notice that it's darker, or at least much more yellow, than the HIDs.

And this is the last picture, which shows that it's yellowish when you look at it side-by-side with the HIDs, however if you turn off the HIDs, they'll look bright.

By the way, the Philips Blue Vision are almost the same, if not a bit yellower, than these ones as the Osrams are 4000K while the other ones are 3800K, if I remember correctly.

So I guess the only thing that'll be remotely close to the HIDs are LED sidelights, but they will give errors and such and I honestly don't want to go through that hassle.

What do you guys think?

Sorry to bring up an old post but its exactly what I'm looking for, my side lights are yellow mania lol did you manage to get your sidelights white like main beam without the LEDs?

Cheers

Maybe a stupid question but i guess these would fit an Ibiza too? I'd quite like to replace my headlights least to make them brighter and whiter :)

Not sure if you're still on this site or not as it's an old post but what fog light bulbs did you go for?
