Bubba!,

Did you have to get 4 "R" clips and screws to suit to fit your unit!??

R clips? ?

I didn't need anything extra. I cut out the small plastic section in the gap that the unit slots in to. The unit fitted straight in and then there are 4 screws for each corner.

The facia that Dave supplied came with all the clips needed for the facia to clip into (are those the R clips?)

Hmm might be ok then!, just looking at that retro fitting guide on here it says you 4 clips n screws to screw the unit to the car!?!?, looks like we're ok on that front then!!

Not sure what some o these leads do though that you get with the fitting kit??, hopefully the manual will make it all clear tomorrow when I come to fit it!!

Trust me if I can fit it, anyone can! :D

I think the clips you mean are the ones that attach to the plastic so that the screw has a thread to screw into, they should be with the unit.

Well that was tougher than i thought!!

Mines in and i'd say it's "ok" - nothing special or dazzling just probably good for the money imo!

Not sure i like the Igo primo nav (no Postcode search facility!), had a few install issues that meant it took longer than it might otherwise have needed too, Oh and no battery for the remote (luckily i had the right one upstairs as i have spares for 3D glasses!)

Took me a while to figure out HOW to fit the aerial adaption thingy (you'll know what i mean when you see it!), Had to cut out some placcy to get the unit to fit (seller kindly sent me a photo of WHERE to trim), Then had issues with ERROR messages coming up on dash when i powered it up after connecting the battery again, then a stupid "safe driving" thing that kept popping up as soon as i moved anywhere!!

Jury's out with me atm on this one! It looks smart as it looks O.e fitment, it has some good features for the price too! Think i just need to give it more time for me to get used to it!!

Haven't connected up Blutooth mic as i can't see me using it tbh as i NEVER answer my phone when driving.

Bubba - you asked for the remote hack to swap the boot logo over - try this!

1) Stereo in stand by,
2) Ignition key in 1st pos (no dash lights),
3) Use remote to power up unit,
4)Power down unit via remote,
5) Press 0 (zero) 4 times then press enter (unit should "beep" twice at you), you should then see a Factory settings menu come up.
6) Go down to setting 13 (arrow keys on remote),
7) press right arrow key on remote (you should see a page with differing logos come up),
8) scroll across to the next page using touch screen and you should see the SEAT logo,
9) Tap on the seat logo,
10) Press OPEN on remote to save (unit should go back to facotry settings screen),
Can't remember after that, but try pressing open again and then power it down on remote and power back up (seat logo should be there on start up if done correct)

P.s - seller did advise that tomtom6 will work with this unit too! (maybe i'm making a mountain out of a mole-hill over the whole no postcode search thing, but i did/do like it!)

Is the icon quality etc as good as the RNS510 obv that is a factory fit unit so there good just would you says it's worth £300-£350 more?

Never seen an RNS510 to compare it too, if i get chance in a bit i'll take a photo or two with my digicam so you can see for yourself!!;)

I'd say you get a lot for your money (features wise) for the £320 it'll cost ya to get one!

Bubba,

Do you know if you can change the colour of the buttons down the left and right of the unit??

Currently the majority of them are green with only the SRC button being red, and i'd rather have it the other way round if i'm being fussyingly honest!!

for some reason aswell it doesn't seem to be able to remember WHERE it was on a track (playing via Ipod conny), every time you come back to it it starts fresh at a new track!??

Oh yeah - one wee & probably useless piece of info regarding the above images (well the 1st one anyway), that was a photo taken from a Region 1 DVD version of Blade - which must mean it's region free!!

Looks smart pal. So your USB and AUX doesn't work now? Does your steering wheel controls work and lastly what does it say on your MFD where it used to say what radio channel you where listening to?

Errrrr:whistle:

Never looked at the MFD display to see what that says now tbh - it's nearly always left on range or MPG , if i remember i'll swap it n see if it works like it used too!

Afaik the USB and Aux sockets become defunct with this unit (the car ones), but tbh you get 2 (iirc) USB ports on the back of this stereo anyway.

Steering wheel controls work with ignition on 2nd postion or car running yeah (maybe they always worked like that tbh!!??)

USB ports are on the rear, but you are provided with cables to run from them, i haven't bothered with mine (yet), but the lead is tucked away if needs be, i'd run mine down to the glovebox same as the ipod lead.

Anyone know of anywhere you can get legit updates for the igo nav (assuming i stick with it!), also can you get an update that'll include post code search!???

Didnt someone post up a link a few pages back?

Ah ok, that sounds good, ill run it into the glove box. Also the GPS thing, did you attach it to the metal thing behind the glovebox? i can only assume it needs an additional stronger antenna for the nav.

Hmm not sure id like the nav unit not having post code searching.

I've got igo primo v2 and that has postcode search. I the previous version also had it, you sure yours hasn't?
Not sure on the colour option, as mine is red which matches the Seat controls (mines an older version of yours)

This is what mine looks like

Bubba

Can you post up a piccie of ya unit with the section that has the postcode search shown please!?!

My unit looks almost exactly like that except that the SD card slots are the other way round on mine with GPS slot on the left!

Maybe it's me not looking properly but all I could see is stuff for entering street, house no, town etc, couldnt see anywhere where you could enter a postcode!?!?

My outer button colours are mixed like I said above with the majority being green and the SRC button lighting up Red, just wondered if there's a way of changing that or not!??

Bradders,

Yes mate my GPS antenna is attached to the metalwork behind the glovebox and then cable tied up.

As for the NO postcode search thing, as above maybe I'm wrong and just haven't seen it or looked in the wrong bit, but i couldn't say it was there straight away. I'll have a look this morning again when I go to see doc!
