I'm wondering if my Cupra TDi has been remapped by a previous owner. It does feel like to power maybe greater than standard judging by cars Ive had in the past.

Any ideas?

Thanks.:)

it's not 100% effective way of finding out and others but boot it down a slip road through gears 3 - 6 and have a look whats coming out the back!!! on mine Pre-map the smoke was barely noticable and after theres a bit of black soot kicked out especially in 5th! (it's also Revo map too not a dodgy one so the black smoke will be there if it's been done )

Wouldnt you just beable to tell if its mapped from attactching a boost gauge? If its running more psi than standard then its been mapped.....?

That would give you an indication yes, if the gauge is fairly accurate.

In my opinion, the easiest way would be to log channels 8 and 11, from this you'll be able to tell.

There's a bit of smoke anyway, probably a bit more than you'd expect to see I guess. It's definately noticeable in fifth and sixth at motorway speeds.

that reminds me why ive never done it its not very clear to me just a load of numbrers and mental instructions.

Once you get you head round what the numbers are for, it'll make sense mate, just invest a bit of time to learn and understand :)
