I've got to the point now where I don't think I'll ever get rid of this car. I will own other cars in the future but this will be my garaged toy. I just couldn't see someone else take it off my hands now either. It wouldn't be as pampered!

My argument isn't against modding.

My argument is against spending 2k on a car that is already heavily modified just in case it breaks. JamJay already pointed out you can buy them for 4k now.

Tom, if your worried about the longevity of the car then don't be. DPJ ran his car on ridiculous power with standard rods. The fact that you service car regularly and look after it means likelihood of it blowing up is a lot less. You could also dial back the boost a tad. Ok you will be 10bhp less bit hey it saves you 2k.

Buying an S3 argument is also not a valid one (we discussed this before!) because your buying another hatch (we agreed that is pointless already). If you bought for example a a 135i or a Porsche or a RS4 then you certainly would not modify those in the same way. If you did modify them then it would be for the long haul like the LCR was.

She wanted to sell the house so I sold my R32 to put towards the deposit and I found out that my old car was up for sale still in great condition at half the price I sold it for so thought it would be a good stop gap. She then changed her mind lol.

I'm goin for either an S3, Leon K1/cupra or edition 30 golf.

The little things do make all the difference mate. I hate missing them with my cars! I know I'd be the same if I bought something else!

I think it comes down to what disposable income I would have to spend on another car if I was in the market and it's not enough to get a 135i or a RS4 (let alone the running costs vs the LCR), so it makes sense to spend a bit more on the areas I want to do on the LCR to finish it off. Diff, clutch and rods. They are for peace of mind.

I get what you're saying totally Maz, but I'm on the home straight now and can finish this within budget to not affect my property funds.

No probs for the hijack, lol. It's all good debate and reading.

Out of those 3 I'd get the S3 unless you can get a mint Edition 30 for the same money. K1's are quick for sure but I think you get a bit more class with the other two imo.

If it is an Evo again it'll not be a 9, hate the look of the front bumper on them. An 8 with a 9 rear is where its at

The 9 does supposidly have the better mivec engine but there's plenty of 8s out there thats running big bhp no problems. All the MR models are nice.
