My argument is against spending 2k on a car that is already heavily modified just in case it breaks. JamJay already pointed out you can buy them for 4k now.
Tom, if your worried about the longevity of the car then don't be. DPJ ran his car on ridiculous power with standard rods. The fact that you
service car regularly and look after it means likelihood of it blowing up is a lot less. You could also dial back the boost a tad. Ok you will be 10bhp less bit hey it saves you 2k.
Buying an S3 argument is also not a valid one (we discussed this before!) because your buying another hatch (we agreed that is pointless already). If you bought for example a a 135i or a Porsche or a RS4 then you certainly would not modify those in the same way. If you did modify them then it would be for the long haul like the LCR was.
