Hi.

I brought my 1.8t cupra with a bailey's DV30 already fitted. Dont seem to be having any issues with it and all seems fine.

I am looking at a remap in the next few weeks by the special people that no-one is aloud to talk about and it was suggested by them that i loose the bailey's and get a forge 007 or 008 instead.
I have brought a 007 today but just wondered if anyone knew what the issue is with the baileys DV30?

Thanks.

Special people? R T E C H ? I think the baileys is a sealed unit and the 007/008 can have the spring changed to suit boost levels

Yes. I didnt want to type it...lol. I have heard so many good things about them that i want to take it for the remap with them and they aint that far away.

baileys are ok but i've had them stick, there were rumors of a tooling issue in manufacture at some point but imagine that's sorted.

that said you're best off taking the advice from who you've chosen to map it.

It does seem a bit strange to me that a forge dv has changeable springs for different maps and the bailey's just has a spring with no option of stronger springs which does indicate that it would be no good after a remap. Am i thinking right there???

It might be worth emailing Bailey and asking. Its a tricky one.. people seem fine with diaphram based valves, like the OEM or the beefed up R1 running allsorts of power with no spring change, yet forge seem to need upgraded springs.
I ran the bailey valve on mine when stage 2 and it was fine other than sticking.

Again I'd ask your chosen tuner.
It was explained to me that the stiffer the spring the greater pressure shock to the turbo when it slams open/closed. If its more gradual the pressure gets more of a chance to equalise. Mines a different turbo set up so it might not be as much of an issue on yours.

How come you swapped RDS?

Its a bit late for me now as i have already brought a 007 because i want the remap doing after but i suppose i can get the baileys on fleebay.

Iv only experienced a baileys on my old astra gsi and it kept sticking I wouldn't have another I replaced it with a collins and it sounded ace and performed well

both will do the job just fine

a Diverter valve is a Diverter valve is a Diverter valve,

all though bosch 710n is where its at ;) or even APR r1

diaphragm over piston personally

I currently have a atmospheric Baileys dump valve fitted to mine, by a previous owner. No idea what model it is as it has nothing other than Bailey Motorsport on it.

I want to swap this for a Forge 007p recirculating one but not sure on how to connect it up. My Bailey has only 2 connecting pipes rather than the three on oem or the forge. One of these is mounted to the cold side return from the 2nd smic, just below the throttle body and the second pipe is the very narrow bore one. So, what other pipe do I need to fit a forge? I'd like to keep the cold side location if I can?

Many thanks

Engine bay will be looking a lot cleaner very soon!!

Cheers!

I would say you need 25mm i/d silicone hose and a 90degree 25mm elbow
Your 007 goes where old valve is then run hose from other 007 outlet back to your TIp With the elbow (remove the blanking plug)
