Wet Wet Wet!

Up until only this week, my LCR has been dry since I've had it (4yrs), but I noticed a small pool of water in the front offside footwell. Car was parked facing downhill for a couple of days.
I dried it out using a VAX, and then parked it uphill, only to discover the next day that the rear offside footwell was now soaked.
Lifted the carpet and again sucked out the water (about 1 litre).
Following day with car still facing uphill, the front footwell was wet again and the water had run back to the rear footwell.
This time, I noticed under the tray above the foot pedals, it was very wet when I rubbed my hand over the plastic. So water could be coming from the engine bulkhead.

Spoke with dealer, and they suggest they have the car for a week, whilst they take out the enire carpet to dry it, and replace all door seals (v common problem) and check other seals. They would then do a water test to check for leaks, before putting the carpet back.
Total cost £570
Might have to bite the bullet, as this will only get worse....

Looking into the boot from the rear of the car, there is a link in the pipework for the rear washer jet behind the left hand side panel, behind the boot light. If that disconnects partially, the washer jet will work to a point, but it will also leak a lot of water via the link into the sound proofing and side panel. I've seen it on 3 Leons including my own Mk1. The connection just pushes back together, and you can cable tie it to secure it better. The boot carpet doesn't always get wet so you will need to look for it by getting behind that trim.

Nearly £600 for new seals and to dry it all off? Blimey I would expect new carpet for that much!!

I don't mind paying £50-£100 for new seals all round but that much????

Not usually mate no, that confused the hell out of me when doing mine. When mine were shot the sills and carpet up the sides were dry but the floor was soaking. You just have to go for it and do them, I would almost guarantee its the door sills if not the pollen filter lid.
