Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me out on the stage 1 Revo remap?

I've heard of a few people having problems with the DPF with the remap. Can anyone tell me if this has been sorted or if they have had any other problems?

Also, is it definitely worth getting it done 'cause I'm still undecided to go ahead with it?

Any advice would be massively helpful thanks!
 
I'm the same to be honest. Your engine the PD or CR. Somebody on here told me that REVO had cracked the CR engine, great remap and no DPF problems. Can't comment on the PD engines.
 
I've got the CR, just don't want to get it done to regret it! Suppose you never know until you get it done for yourself.

The search feature is your friend ! Its been discussed loads of time on the forum already.
There are a few of us running Revo stage 1 on CR engines. No problems at all and I've been running the remap for 30,000 already.

Just waiting for Milltek to finish developing the DPF removal pipe for the CR engines.

Chris,

My CR170 was the development vehicle for the Revo Stage 1 and 2 kits.

As such it has done 30,000 miles, all of them trouble-free; no limp modes, no warning lights, no CELs - nothing.

Go ahead and do it - you won't regret it, and the follow-up service is second to none.

What's this now? Revo has cracked the CR170?
Or do you mean Revo now does the CR170, in general. By removing the ECU?

We're 100% for definite getting a remap once I can drive and once we use up the warranty as much as possible. Before it disappears after its mapped :)
 
I've decided to go ahead with it along with getting it lowered.

Get a 20% discount on the Revo remap aswell so can't complain!

I never meant cracked it asin broke it cracked I meant asin their map is supposed to work wonders and problem free on the CR's.

Has the remap affected anybody insurance by alot?
 
anything that makes revo so good as i have been quoted about £250 by a few reputable local tuners for a remap giving the same gains- this would be a rolling road map with before and after dyno

Ah ok. Had a shimmer of home there. But the guys at Sedox did say they've tried for years and still no go, so it won't happen really.

Oh well. Won't stop me
 
Backdraftmotorsport advise our ecu is "locked", a security measure seat put on it to prevent remapping but they charge £60 to "unlock" it

It is indeed locked.
Best thing is to have it done properly by removal, writing the ECU and refitting it with factory anti-tamper screws.
Leaves no traces...depending on how tricked up your dealer is.

Hmmm - "reputable"? Well there's a word with many definitions.

Most of these "reputable" tuners will not be using their own codes - they will be generic bought-in maps from wherever they can get them.

The ECU on these cars has been "unlockable" since 2010. Admittedly not through the CAN port but unlockable nonetheless. Revo have spent many hours and ££££ developing their code so it worked faultelssly - they even had my car for 4 weeks making sure that it was reliable and no faults showed up.

By all means got to your local guy but I will be happy knowing that the code for my car was developed by guys who really know what they're doing.

Ever heard of the phrase "buy cheap, buy twice"? :whistle:
 
Just by way of info I mailed a tuner in the NW about this and was told.

. One thing i will say though is that every VW Group dealer has to now scan each new vehicle that enters their workshop and send the files online to be checked against a standard base map, If the values do not match then the vehicle is put under "TD1" status, the standard file is re-written and the car flagged for future visits. Not many people are aware of this but i feel that as a potential customer its best that you are informed of every eventuality possible.
