piss easy to replace the speakers! you dont even have to take the door cards off, just remove the speaker grill
as far as your options are concerned, you can go for anything that your budget will allow, the speakers are 165mm in size.
totally up to you whether you got for a 3-way/2-way all in one speaker or go for components/upgrade the mid-bass driver only

They look good, and excuse me for being a muppet but my tweeters are more square than round lol is this different from other models? Thats the one in my drivers side door anyway :-/
I've no idea... I'm assuming that they just retain the exterior casing on the door panel and put the new speaker itself inside?
Personally, I think JBL are a great quality speaker. You only need a 2-way.
If you grt the speaker adaptor rings, the sak 3103 you get the wire block connectors in with them
You csn cut 1 of the wires on the adaptor side which disables the factory tweeter without cutting the factory fit wiring.
Vibe black air is also another quality speaker.
If you get a set of components you can just fit the mid bass driver and keep the stock tweeter.

I know what you're saying and doing a direct swap is no problem - put the 6x9's in my old focus. But when you're getting crossovers and stuff involved I don't really know what I'm doing. also don't want to make a mess of my door cards with errant screwdrivers!
Ok cool i'll take a look. In car audio is a bit of a hassle really when you've got a nice car... still not got round to fixing the FAKRA on the Alpine stereo I fitted! At least when you've got a banger mistakes matter less!
I know it s a pain mate, as you dont want to mess things up.
all i have done is replace my 165mm mid bass drivers with 2-way's all round & I have kept my stock tweeters - i disabled the tweeters by cutting one of the wires in the adaptor wires
I did put some dynamat in there too to reduce vibrations.
You don't really need to do much more than that really, unless you're plannin a super dogs doodah's system

Are your speaker upgrades good on bass guys? i know this is a commonly asked question and people say your original speakers only sound like they have a lot of bass because its actually distorted sound or something like that? or is the only way to get good bass after fitting other speakers by putting a sub in aswell?
I dynamatted the door cards where the speaker sits to reduce the vibration when the sound is turned up when i fitted aftermarket speakers in mine.
Currently got some Pioneer ones in, the sound is far better than the stock speakers but these are coming out soon in favour of some JBL's as i'm not entirely happy with the Pioneers.
bass wise, some decent 3-way speakers would provide some extra umph
you only need to uprate the speakers if sticking with the standard head unit IMHO.
You will get better bass reproduction with a sub, but if your going to add a sub, you would need to replace the head unit to give you the necessary connections etc, be this the RNS-510 (if it has the outputs for a sub) or an aftermarket double DIN headunit, preferably one that still gives the options of bluetooth hands free calling, compatability with your steering wheel controls and MFD screen.
the aftermarket Pioneer head unit that the main dealers supply is about £950!

Ok cheers, yh ive got an aftermarket pioneer avh-4200bt headunit, i can recommend it and theres newer model out now too, my sound is pretty good through the standard speakers but i just wondered if theres better to replace them with but i dont want to lose bass really, ive had subs before and ive got one in the shed which could go in but i dont really want to mess around fitting it as its a ball ache getting the wiring all to the back lol

I believe that unit is a Kenwood one
Can someone recommend a replacement speaker, sub £100 that will be a direct replacement and allow me to continue to use the OEM tweeter, so I'm guessing a bass mid unit. I'm after the simplest way to stop the speaker honking on spoken female voices.
Oh, and I'm not averse to spending far less than the £100 BTW nd only looking to replace the fronts at the moment.
