took a pic of the plate on my blown tolly turbo and the number looks like 03g or 038 then 253019n, trouble is this doesnt match what i think should be fitted. also it has the gt1749v designation. are all gt1749v turbos the same? i need to clarify as im about to buy a new one for my 03 plate asv engine. could it have been replaced in the past?

I think the GT1749V's are all the same size but probably different fitments. Is yours part of the manifold or separate?

erm

well its off an 03 plate 110bhp tolly. which dosent make sense as that part seems to be for a 115bhp pd engine.

Where did you get that from? I got the info from ETKA. and a PD turbo wouldn't fit so it cant be :)

The AJM uses the same size turbo and manifolds as the ALH, ASV, AHF etc, course it'd fit, the AJM even uses the same pipe work and everything, engine mounts in the same way too so why would it not fit? The only thing you need to watch for is if it's part of the manifold or separate. You could use a complete turbo and manifold from the ALH though.

I hate these pop up adverts they do my head clean in. Any body know how to turn them off? Fat belly indeed. Right, back on topic. Why don't you get your chassis number and phone your nice local seat dealer and speak to the parts department, they'll tell you. That's how I got the part number for mine as the number on the plate was too faded to be legible.

thanks for the info. i phoned turbo dynamics and gave them the reg and bought a new one £600+ though :( .

Cheers seatmann, I'll have to get round to it.

See for that dough you could have bought a standard arl turbo and bolted that on. Gsf priced one for me at £650 with no core needing returned. I know there's a bit of fiddling to get it on and running at reduced boost but you would have a view to bigger power in the future.

Hi guys hope you don't mind me jumping in but it will save starting a new thread and hopefully put my mind at rest.
My brother has a bora with ASZ engine fitted but needs a new turbo so I went on eBay and came across a listing for a Ibiza ASZ turbo which I bought but its just been delivered today and on it the breaker has written Ibiza ASD and it has a KKK serial plate on it which says 038 253 016 S V111

Everything looks the same as far as I can remember when we removed his a few months ago but I just wanted some advice before I remove his turbo?

Cheers guys

Serial number 038 253 016 S is correct number for ASZ ;-) But its an older evo. Actual is 038 253 056 F

Although I would have replaced it with with a Garrett GT1749VA unit as its more bullet proof than the kkk one.

Model number is "038 253 019N". This was dropped and replaced with "03G 253 014E" in 2007. Is that the part no you were looking for?

Correct.

Garrett no. is 713673-0006 and is used in many many applications from VEP to PD Diesel 90 up to 115hp.

Thanks to high quantity those are very cheap at the right source ;-)

Thanks for the info, if that's THE correct serial number for ASZ engine how come the original turbo fitted is a gt1749 v... Or did they fit both the KKK and the garrett unit or KKK to Ibiza and garrett to bora etc?

Just trying to get my head round things

Thanks
