• Hey Guest💡👉 We have recently launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
I was going to write 'it has the arse of a scirocco' then read back through the pages of it 'should look like a scirocco'.

Its similar shaped to the VW and looks MUCH better than the 5 door. I also agree that it should sold as a separate model (with afew more changes).

Id actually buy one. Not spanking new though as i found out recently after 2 years of owning my tsi, i owe more on the car than what its worth

i found a love for the mk1, love the shape
i love the mk2 the shape of the car and lines of the bodywork.
mk3..... I could love!

The design seems very colour sensitive. The red one and the blue one look like two completely different cars to me. Looks great on the road though and sounds nice too.

Yes you are right Scott. I didn't notice the FR badge on the grille. I still think the colours make them look very different though. It would have to be red for me for my hypothetical purchase. The blue is a bit too polite.

Also, sorry for two sequential posts..

Opinions on the new A3 and golf anybody?

You only know the A3 is "new" because Audi tell you. The automotive equivalent of beige (a very expensive beige at that).

The Golf's alright based on pictures, not seen one in the real world yet though.

I've been to see both in the showroom and liked them both.

The A3 interior is stunning, massive upgrade on the previous one. I know the exterior is similar to the old one, but I quite liked that too so I'd be pretty happy with one. The issues with the A3 for me are...
A - It felt a bit small, especially in the back. Now this is was a 3 door model so I suspect the Sportback will resolve this problem. I will have to go and have a look at one a those.
B - The lack of kit which is standard on the Golf.
C - The cost

The Golf interior is also very good, it feels quite big inside. The front dash really feels well built and I loved the Discover Pro system with it's huge 8" screen, as I gadget geek I'd have to get!! I do agree the other people that the exterior design is rather safe, but having seen the new images of the GTD/GTI I think they do look great and I am really considering the GTD over the Leon FR TDi.

The only reason I might consider the A3 Sportback over a Golf GTD is because of the Quattro model. I enquired when this will be available directly with Audi UK and they called me the other night to say it would be in Summer, so not that far away.

Just been to Geneva motorshow and got a few pics of the new MK3 SC not a massive fan of the new Leon if I'm honest....

Seen a few new Golfs on the road over the past week.
You have to look really really hard to find them, theyre almost identical to the mk6 golf.
Design is way too safe i think.

Thats why i didnt order one and went for a fully specced up fr150 instead!
£ for £ it cost me £3300 less than the same spec new Golf gt tdi.

Andy:)
