Hi,

My misses has been nagging me to let her drive my Cupra for the past 6 months, so today I caved in and we swapped cars for the day. I have just had a phone call from her saying "I am so sorry, I hit a kurb and the alloy wheel is badly damaged" :( I wont see the damage until tonight but this could be a good excuse to get the alloys powder coated black.

Hopefully, this will stop her from wanting to drive my car again.

Ouch. Had that phone call before but someone ran her into the curb, ended up with a set of bbs ch :D Hope you get it sorted mate

 Never let them behind the wheel of your pride and joy it always ends in disaster. Well in your case it could be in your favour if you get the wheels refurbed.

I'm sorry I know it's not funny it's just they way you described it

But to be honest it's only a wheel can easily be fixed / replaced

Wife on the other would cost a fortune to change :)

At least she told you. My misses doesn't say anything and then blatently lies about it when I question her.

Yup , I've had the same phone call with both the previous FR an the R.
Whilst ritual killing springs to mind, thinking clearly this gives one some, ahem , leverage with said wife/gf :)

i'd expect some 'looking after' ;)

Lol, I expect the refurb as well as extras ;)

To be honest after looking at the damage its not to bad, obviously I'm not going to let her know that. There are two kurb marks; one about 6 inches long right on the edge of the alloy and the second about 2 inches long which goes slightly higher and deeper.

Does anybody have a ball mark figure I should be looking at to get all refurbed in gloss black, please any recommendations in Worcester area.

Rich

lol, my missus did this last November just after we got the new Cupra. Let her take it home from work so I could stay late.

I only found out because the little one grassed her up later that night.

Apparently she kacked herself and had phoned the local dealership and got it booked in the day after for repair. Only problem was they wanted £85 to sort it - I could get it doen for half that, plus I knew winter was on its way and thought I may as well wait until spring.

I'm still using it as leverage to this day - the trick is staying calm and collected about it lol

Hahaha! Mr Mrs was always to scared to drive my car in case she did anything to it!

This is our first joint car, but as the tyres are a decent profile compared to the last they should survive better than her last 18's (215/35)
