Servicebook and paperwork that came with our new Mk5 Ibiza states 60k miles before the first cambelt change - it is a 1.2, Oct 2010 and got c13k on the clock.

fixed price menu servicing prices from dealer states 40k miles AND then every 4 years!!!!

Are they having a laugh?
Which is it please???

I would be interested to know when people are thinking about getting theirs done. I was thinking about getting mine done somewhere between 45,000 and 55,000 miles depending on if I have the cash spare.

just had mine done yesterday at 41k miles. was due at 40. £280 seat are offering it for atm which is fairly reasonable and they turned it round in 2.5 hours.

Tbh i think seats pricing for a cam belt change is pretty reasonable too.

Don't forget their assuming annuals of 12 to 15 thou a year.
Just about to have the belt changed on my 56 plate, 1.9 diesel Altea. 58 thou First Belt. Main dealer quote £350, and I 'aint paying that.
Whatever you decide just remember what the consequences could be.

According to my service book it's every 120,000 miles (2.0 tdi CR) but SEAT are saying every 40,000 - which is correct - if it's every 40k I'll have to get it done every 2 years!!!

I have a 1.6tdi on a 60 plate(2011) and cam belt is every 120k miles or 5 years.

Really this sounds along time???, ive got 70k on my 1.6 tdi 10plate,not changed the belt yet....Anyone back this time/mileage up?
