Hi. Can anyone recommend an iphone 4s vent mount for the Exeo? I have a windscreen mount at the moment, but I'm finding the phone is too far away so I thought I'd try a vent mount, but don't know if the round vents in the exeo will cause problems with some units.

Also if anyone has ideas on tidy ways of routing an iPhone charge cable (or wiring one in somewhere behind the stereo) I'd be interested to hear what you've done.

Ta.

I'm using a Arkon Bean Bag dash mount with a suitable cradle for my phone. It's proven absolutely solid sat above the vents, even with "enthusiastic" driving that throws the passengers around ;)

For a charge cable I've routed a thin, flat, cable to a Belkin compact cigarette lighter USB adapter that sits in the cigarette lighter. The cable I'm using is one of the retractable ones, but removed from the unit. This I've wedged down the right side of the centre console, around the edge of the gear stick and then it's free for the last stretch to the adapter.

The result is something that's unobtrusive, yet trivial to remove so that there's no sign it was ever there. If I had a decent local customiser I'd look at getting a USB socket fitted in the storage compartment under the vents.

hi,

for the past 3 months I have been using a tetrax holder, expensive at about £30 but then my iphone 5 wasnt cheap either and I need it to be reliable as I use it for my sat nav. can either have vent mount or a little magnet mount which sticks anywhere on dash etc

Thanks for all the info guys. I've decided to try one of the Arkon beanbags.

I've had the Arkon SM412 (£17 from amazon) for a few weeks now and it's an excellent bit of kit. It's comes with the beanbag and a good quality phone mount. I really like the fact that I can have the phone very close to the steering wheel by moving the whole thing on top of the right-hand vent in the middle of the dash. Thanks for the recommendation.

Only probs with the bean bags is in a crash it's a big heavy in restrained object that will cause damage and injury, I have worked in a crash lab and even small things left lose make a mess in a crash, and don't assume just because its on the dash it will go forward, if the car rotates it could end up anywhere

I use a screen mount from maplin, it has joints which lock in place, a sticky rubbe pad on the bottom of the sucker so it can be stuck and suck to the dash, and works really well, and it was only about £15! I've even used it for videos and data collection on track days with good results in the mk2 golf

Hi,

I use the standard cup holder for my iPhone 4, it works a treat when using the iPhone for music and satnav. Much better than putting hot drinks in there just above the stereo!

Cheers Steve.
